Thank you so much for the lovely tutorial. Would like to that any substitute for colour splash white ..is it okay to use any other liquid coloir brand ?
Thank you so much for your tutorial. 2 questions, 1: can I put these on the side of a cake with just the buttercream I don’t want to cover the entire cake with fondant, only the panels. 2: Can I make these panels a day ahead of time then put them on the following day when I decorate my cake. Thank you!
Little Cherry Cake, Thank you for getting back to me. I’m new to fondant work. I am definitely a fan of yours, you inspired me. Forever a Subscriber. ❤️
Hello! I really love watching you tutorials, I did a version of this cake a month ago and came out really good. But my blue was not quite a nice as I would have liked. Would you mind sharing the colour blue that you used on the board.
Thanks! I can't remember if I airbrushed it or covered it with paste! haha. If I airbrushed it, it would have been Kroma blue and black mixed together. If it was paste it would have been Renshaws Navy coloured paste xx
Little Cherry Cake I substituted to ur channel yesterday.. from yesterday I'm watching ur tutorials one by one.. And I can't stop watching them 😆 ur so talented & creative.. it's God gifted 💕 Love from Dxb ❤️❤️
Yes in the US cornstarch is a fine white powder …our fine white powder here is called cornflour :) But I believe the US corn flour is something else entirely 😂 it can get confusing!
I just finished the cake I did using this tutorial today and wish I could share the picture! What a fabulous tutorial! It went flawlessly. Thank you!!
I'm a pastry chef and love this tutorial.

Sure! You can put them on with buttercream, just make sure they are set firm, they are totally fine to make the day ahead! x

The base is done with fondat or gumpaste?
I love this effect! Did you continue to repeat the process for each panel? Or did you make one long strip? Thanks Tracy x
Thanks! Yep just repeat all the way around :D x
@@Cherrycakeco thank you! I'm going to give it a try. 😍
Love your wood effect it looks amazing so realistic 🤗

Love your works. Do you mind if I ask, what kind of board do you work on (acrylic)?
Hi, Yes I often have cakes placed on an acrylic circle for easier clean up :D x

Would this work for a regular color wood panel?
Sure, I've also done brown versions :D x
@@Cherrycakeco, for the brown version we still use corn starch but with brown food colouring? and is it liquid or gel food colouring? thank you.

Do you let the panels dry out and become hard before adding it to the cake? Really great video, this is very clever :)
I usually let them firm up just a little so they dont move too much when handling :D xx
