Lol at the unintentional shade in these comments from Gen Z giving faint praise to Bonnie without realising she's a global legend. Comments like "If the UK had sent this in the 80s, it would have won" completely misunderstand the intention behind this entry. The nostalgia was entirely deliberate. Only a country with an 80-year history of world chart-topping music can afford to reach back to its past for inspiration.
Lets face it, for a 3 minutes, we all forgot that was Eurovision, and we believe that was Bonnie Tyler Show. Perhaps that was the reason... people look at singer and thought UK send someone famous just for people votating, we all know bonnie. The music is beautiful and honestly I tired of people trying to Pop-Ish Eurovision and deciding what is a Eurovision Song or Not. This Contest should be for all type of Songs and Every Style.

I would recommend people in the UK and Ireland not to be so obsessed with winning the Eurovision or the placing you get. Try to enjoy the contest a little bit more. I love the songs you send, but it's true that the artists are much better than the songs. The songs are your weakness, the same happens in Spain.
+Alejandro I'm not sure if the UK tried that hard to win this year. Both the UK and Ireland (my country) have two of the best winning records. Ireland has seven and I think the UK has 5 or 6. This was a great song, but if she sang better it could have won. That really is the problem with a lot of countries. Either they send a good singers with a bad song or a bad singer with a good song
Agreed. We need to send a big power ballad anthem of unity and love by an amazing female vocalist. They have always done the best for the UK in the past. Not some wishy washy forgettable pilf. The song needs to touch people's hearts.
Everybody has his own taste. Maybe you just don't like rough and/or husky voices or Bonnie's way to sing. If I compare this live-Version to the CD-Version I must say that in this live version there is so much more heart, passion and feeling than in the CD-version. nothing to prove Bonnie Tyler is an amazing artist she is imcomparable to this new generation singers. I believe she was sent to ESC 2013 not to win but to show the international world a real entertainment. Her voice and style are hers truly unique dare anyone sang "total eclipse of he heart", no one could give life to it only hers and her voice :)
After hearing this song some more times I have to say that I think she sounds weak in the beginning. But the refrain has a great melody which stucks in my head and the atmosphere and her voice are really great. I'm starting to love this song. After all, really underrated song. Greetings from Germany :)
Timo Herrmann asshole she first time use real in ear monitor ! i mean costumes just her ear this piece of thing and thats why she sounds different because she use before but not this kind think and 2 she her own concert never use it! look at her shows all ways front of her had those big fucking boxes!
@@tamasfischer2464 Excuse me, there's no need to call me an asshole, just if you're a rude and dissatisfied person. Couldn't you read that I was positive about the video all in all?
Other possibilities are James Arthur and Little Mix both are X factor winners since this is what Australia did at Eurovision by sending in X factor 2013 Winner Dami IM to Stockholm and 2015 winner Isaiah to Kiev or Ella Henderson and Cher Lloyd since they are X factor finalists like Series 6 and 15th place Lucie Jones
EpicThe112, The UK did just that when they fielded X-Factor alumni in their national selection this year, and the one they eventually sent gave the country it's best results since 2013/2014 .
This is a beautiful song that anyone will remember and sing ... fantastic matching voice and emotion-filled, that one call feels the word...Beleive in me....Awesome!
Guys you have to realise how much Bonnie was speaking during interviews in the time leading up to Eurovision, which wore her voice out, so her voice wasn't the strongest it can be.
What an honour for the Eurovision Song Contest ! Her voice has changed , and the song was not the strongest one. But just for this honour, each jury should have awarded it with at least a few points.
This was a special year as was the first year I held a Eurovision party at home. Would always remember it. Bonnie started shaky but but by end of the song I think she was at her fullest. Literally the best she could perform and although was a few years out was a powerhouse. Remember the interviews where her highlight was being taken out to a restaurant. Like she'd been sealed in since total eclipse of the heart. Regardless think this is a pretty heartful and genuine performance which kinda soars as it goes on. Not the best that year. It didn't do that terribly but probably deserves better.
For years, she was the only one who bowed to the audience. Living legend!

I LOVE this song so much. Still listening in 2024. Don’t understand why it didn’t do better. 💗
It's nice, but I have to say that I enjoy the instrumentals more than the vocals. I say that with the utmost respect.
I agree. The vocals are shocking (that said, she can sing better than i can tbh). I love the tune.
nothing to prove Bonnie Tyler is an amazing artist she is imcomparable to this new generation singers.
Well done Bonnie! You were amazing!! The song of UK had to be to top-5 for me. Greetings from Greece.
Britain needs to send a really popular artist out like adele or jls
there way 2 famous maybe anne marie
Other possibilities are James Arthur and Little Mix both are X factor winners since this is what Australia did at Eurovision by sending in X factor 2013 Winner Dami IM to Stockholm and 2015 winner Isaiah to Kiev or Ella Henderson and Cher Lloyd since they are X factor finalists like Series 6 and 15th place Lucie Jones
EpicThe112, The UK did just that when they fielded X-Factor alumni in their national selection this year, and the one they eventually sent gave the country it's best results since 2013/2014 .
Sam Archer Music JLS WHOOOO
Adele is famous since 8 years. Bonnie Tyler since 42.
Years and years later I remebered this woman and her beautiful song.
It was like she wasn’t competing she given a concert!
Who else LOVES THIS SONG? 🥰
I didn't know Goldie Hawn could sing for the UK
Lol :)
C A I think the plastic surgeon they share should throw the mold away,it´s worn out.:)
Just amazing! How good could be to have more of this! Hope soon, cause I believe in me!
Respect from Armenia♥♥♥
Proof that being a Global Superstar is no guarantee of doing well at Eurovision. Doesn't matter though, It's "Bonnie Tyler" and I love her.
Bonnie you´re awesome
I like the Song😊❤
winner
What an honour for the Eurovision Song Contest ! Her voice has changed , and the song was not the strongest one. But just for this honour, each jury should have awarded it with at least a few points.
Imagine how well she would have done if she were sober?
LOL
Ha ha
Die.
Imagine if she hadn't had to get drunk because she had a decent song that she could actually place with. --- Now that would've been nice. :P
She was one of the best that year!
Slay. beautiful song. Legendary artist. I'm OK to the fact she didn't win but the placement (19th) is downright disrespectful.
I love this song and of course i love Bonnie...what can i do ? for me she is a Diva.
Underrated!
