Hello what's up Josh, New Subscriber here. Thanks for the great video. I was wondering when you are talking pictures of your shirts are you laying them on the ground to take pictures? Also what do you use for a camera, phone or regular camera? Thanks for any information. Take care and have a great weekend ✌
I def get that doing UA-cam right is just too time consuming when you are trying to get your reselling down. I want to do UA-cam in the future but I really have to get some things solid with reselling and FT job....thanks for always inspiring Josh!!🙌
It's so hard to find that balance, we are always getting pulled in different directions. The idea about setting up 25 blocks of time is a good one, I might just steal that!
Thanks for watching! I usually just steam my clothing being photographing/storing my items. I try to make sure I don't pick up items that are too nasty 😅 And I think buyers on the second hand market usually plan to wash the item before wearing it themselves. I haven't had anyone complain about pre-owned clothing not being washed so far! *knock on wood
I wish you wouldn’t focus so much on clothing. Unfortunately, I don’t think that clothing is the answer to make the $10,000 gross goal, every month. It changed my business around, when I decreased my clothing pick ups. You’re still one of my favorite youtubers and I’d like for you to reach your goals.
I know lots of people dislike clothing, but I actually like it haha 😁 I feel like I can get in a good rhythm when photographing and listing similar types of clothing items. It's a grind, but definitely possible to scale. I honestly feel like testing electronics is more of a head ache. But everyone is different, and there are thousands of different ways to scale an eBay business!
An interesting note regarding gross etc. If your gross is 10k, and 4.5k of that is net profit, some of that still has to go towards buying more inventory, so in reality, how much is actually left?
Ohh yeah, that's a good point. I try to keep at least 5k in my main business checking account in case any opportunities for big purchases come up. Sourcing for me really depends on what comes up, since I probably have enough backlog of stuff in storage to not source for a couple months lol. I'd say on an average month, I spend anywhere from $500-1000 on new inventory.
@@Josh-Kim Hey, that's honestly not too bad! I was expecting far more than that, but maybe due to being in a different niche (I sell video games), my COG is significantly higher. For me to gross 10k, I definitely need more like 2k, possibly more in inventory purchases. How big is your draft bank tho, just curious?
@@TachibanaTengoku Ohh yeah, you definitely have to pay up to resell video games these days. I try to photograph 40-50 items at a time, and work off that batch for the next 3ish days.
What's up Josh, how do you handle items that you don't see as profitable enough to list? I have been debating on piling mine up to throw in a garage sale or just donate them.
Hey Taylor! If I have a lot of similar items, I will post a "resellers lot" on Facebook Marketplace for super cheap (something like a lot of 50 items for $30-40). If no one bites, I re-donate them to a thrift store. That donation trip is also an excuse for me to go thrifting hahah
Thanks! This is actually my second attempt at full-time reselling. I struggled a lot the first time around, and definitely had slower sales months before. I learned a lot the first time around, and pushing myself to make it work this time 😅😁
I use a ring light right now for my main light, along with a normal daylight bulb mounted on a tripod. I've been looking/shopping around for a new light system these days though.
Focus on paying the bills right now Josh. Totally understand and that’s why I keep watching because you’ve just been real about the struggles with reselling. Always enjoy your content!
I really loved this video! Just keep making a day in the life because I learn a lot. Nice guy and great buy-out! You’re jus so loved by your fans! 🎊🎉💯💯
I think you should keep doing these day in the life videos. You should also do it in real time when you source to show the actual hits and misses. Since others show the finds. But they leave out the part where most stores are sometimes duds. Then people take on reselling and get false expectations because of it.
lol saaame. before i record a video i know exactly what i want to talk about and how i want to say it. then once i hit the record button, every thing ive ever learned about grammar is out the window and my vocabulary is 50% reduced 😂. AND THEN if you try to restate something but you dont start from the beginning of your thought...oy it sucks editing those bits of thoughts together lol. good video josh, keep up the great work, youll hit your goals in no time! -Val
oh, and i liked your advice about setting a timer. i will be trying that. i easily get off task or try to "multi task" and i end up doing tiny parts of each task i need to do and never the whole task lol
Love your organization and discipline. I'm the same way with youtube. I may say the same thing 5 times and use the best one. It's time consuming for sure. Being able to do it right the first time is definitely a gift! Great video!
If you ever figure out the reselling, youtube balance let me know! :-) Yeah it takes me ages to make a decent video and obviously that time takes away from actually reselling, its hard to get the balance right. Great video, thanks
Nice purchase 👍. Taxes seem to catch a lot of new resellers off guard. Especially with the self employment if they are not used to it. I plan on closer to 30-35%. Net profit disappears way too quickly
It's nice to see the reselling community helping each other out, no matter the situation.❤ You never really know of "Real" reasoning to get rid of good inventory fast... could of been in a bind or needing cash fast... you just never know😔🙏....... nice haul Josh 👍
Hi, Josh. Wonderful video as usual. Please do whatever is right for you. 🙏🙏. I love your vids but if you need to concentrate on Ebay for now, go for it. How about little video bites on occasion like Pete over at Craiglist Hunter?? Whatever you do, we will all be there for you. 😍🥰👏👏👏 Alice
Glad to see you back.
Appreciate it. Thanks for watching, Paul!

Hey thanks for subscribing! I just use my iPhone to take photos 😊
G DeFie. Like gravity defying
definitely learned something new from this haul! seems like a really good pair of shoes
Well done. You will be busy until next year my friend. Not easy, but possible.
I'll definitely be busy! Which is a good problem to have 😊
Any Nutmeg tagged sports sweatshirt is gold.
Nice. That's good to know!!
Been enjoying your videos and the contents you put out Josh. Keep up the great work.
Means a lot. Thank you!

Appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching Juan!
Smart on the coffee grinds in am!
Definitely saves me some money!
Nice bulk pickup buy in this one. I haven't had any major bulk buys lately, I am trying to get all my inventory listed. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Interested on your inventory system. Another great video! 😊
I should do an office tour soon, or a video on my inventory system 😁
Tennis dresses have always sold for me quick & decent money. Good bread & butter.
I had no idea until recently! I'm definitely keeping an eye out for more now 😁

Maybe 1 more video per month? Always enjoy You Videos!!
Definitely thinking through and looking to see how I can create more content. Appreciate you watching!
It's so hard to find that balance, we are always getting pulled in different directions. The idea about setting up 25 blocks of time is a good one, I might just steal that!
It definitely helps me stay focused! It's too easy to get distracted, since there's always so much to do haha
@@Josh-Kim I'm right there with you, I'm like a squirrel. I get distracted way too easily... lol
For preowned clothing and plush do you typically wash prior to shipping? New sub to your channel, look forward to more content Josh!
Appreciate the sub! I usually steam everything before listing. I try to not pick up things that need deep cleaning, unless it's a higher end item.
Great content. Just curious, do you wash the clothes before you ship it?

Bring mom and wife to a garage sale. I want to see if mom can haggle like you.
Must order packing materials for Q4, add to checklist. I seriously keep forgetting.
Yess. Now is the time before it gets too busy!
Bulking up for Q4 in the best way!
Definitely! Hoping to have enough to get through the cold weather 😁
That was a great inventory buy! Starbucks Sumatra is my fav coffee, too! Great video Josh!
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching 😊
If others can do YT and reselling at the same time you can too. Have faith!

15 - 20 on the regular is a great goal imo. I've been keeping that 15 as a minimum...prepping my vintage can be such a time sucker though!
Thanks Meesha! 15 minimum is awesome 😊
UA-cam definitely takes a lot of time. A Labor of love for sure 🙂🙂
Without a doubt! UA-cam is one heck of a marathon hahah

Hey josh are you from california? If so what part? I feel like reselling full time is not viable here thrift prices are so high
Hey! I’m actually from New Jersey 😁 I’m really lucky to have a few thrift stores in my area that are pretty good.

Do you promote all your listing and if so how much? Also do you have top rated seller status?
Yeah, I have the top rated status. And I promote anywhere from 2-5% depending on the item/category.

do you sell on facebook marketplace through shipping ? your background on shoes looks I've seen before
I just do local sales for Facebook right now 😅 I guess someone uses a similar set-up!
Always enjoy your videos but reselling is your job and that's way more important . Good sourcing you should do well.

Lol if I could get 25 minutes without interruption my life would be golden cleary Guys don’t have the same issues women do
Sorry to hear 😕 What are the biggest things keeping you distracted?
Hey josh, I have a question. Is your eBay business registered as an s-Corp or llc for liability purposes?
I just file taxes as a sole proprietor for now. I'll look into other options when I scale the business more 😅
