Exploring Singapore on a Budget

The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system is arguably the best way to get around Singapore as a tourist. With fares that cost around $1 or so to travel across (literally) the country, the MRT has become too mainstream and way too crowded! So, if you want to save yourself an extra few bucks when visiting the most expensive city in the world? Visit Malaysia instead...
If you're still keen to visit, there is a 36 km walking trail that spans across Singapore and is perfect for a descent leg day. The bragging right that comes along with crossing an entire country within a day is not bad too.
