      Kaitlyn Acorn so True! They’re incredibly intimate & captivating. I will say tho so many people are envious of You Tubers yet Jason has put it into perspective & reiterated how tired he always is (could also be because he’s 20 yrs older than everyone) & does it simply on the basis to support his children. Yet seemingly is enjoying it.
      However, this interview w/ David has made us even more so (envious) how much Fun he’s having & clearly making a ton of money even if it supposedly only comes from merch sales, touring, the podcast & Brand deals etc.,rather than the vlogs themselves. Albeit, those opportunities wouldn’t have been possible had it not been for the vlogs ....

    david just has an immigrant's mindset. especially children of immigrants. weve seen our parents slave doing shitty jobs, moving across the world where they don't know the language and have to rebuild themselves from the ground up whilst raising children. these children then grow up seeing their parents doing all of that whilst seeing all of the opportunities that they also have. this is why davids like he almost can't stop / he loves working / he gets stressed when things aren't the best / vacations aren't his priority right now cos like he said he's "won the lottery". he's got an opportunity to set his life up for good the way his parents didnt and he knows that and that's why he doesn't take it for granted and can't allow himself to stop. clearly, im not saying those who aren't immigrants / the first children of immigrants or first generation kids don't work hard or value what they have but the truth is because the first world (& the privileges that come with it tbh) is all they know, they can't see why or they most do not have this mindset. and that's just the truth. david is hungry and NEEDS things to work out because failure isn't an option and although white, straight and male, (i believe) hasn't (personally) had EVERYTHING handed to him without doing most of the work or at least hasn't seen his parents have everything handed to them especially when migrating. i myself also have this mindset and thus am very proud of everything he's achieved and can relate to his need of 'organised chaos' and disregard of things that get in the way of that, no matter how appealing it seems to others.

      beautiful comment, great insights!

    • @kyle8575
      @kyle8575 6 років тому +33

      To add to this comment... I'm not an immigrant, however, my dad is a steamfitter and my mom is a hygienist. Overall a wealthy family..But I have seen two sides of the spectrum. Someone who (my dad) never really took their opportunities or worked hard early in life. Ended up with a job they hate with an intense burning passion. There's not one day he comes home enjoying what he does. On the other hand my mom, who really enjoys her job. She took every opportunity and didn't waste it. She has really long shifts, always comes home tired, but in the end really enjoys what she does. I saw what was wrong at such a young age. Around 10-12 years old I probably realized this (now 18 yrs old). This has pushed me to really reach for my goals in life and not give up, because what's the point if you make money but don't enjoy doing it? That's why I truly will reach for my goals and dreams until I'm satisfied. My dad has always told me if you want to do something in life start now, reach as high as you can, and land a little bit lower. This is probably the best advice I have ever received simply because it's true. If your goals are really hard to reach you'll end up somewhere a little lower. This will always add up and in the end put you somewhere you want to be.

It’s nice to know that he’s happy with what he does, I wish everyone could be like that, because unfortunately not everyone gets to wake up and do what they love, work where they want, and have their best life laughing with friends and making memories that will last the rest of your life.

    Everyone say David is like a kid but he is not like that at all! He is so mature in they way he thinks about the World and all the stuff that happen. I admire it so much and love that he is so thankful for everything because not many UA-cambers are like that and so passionate about the stuff they do. He is all in one a good Person.
    In this coversation I've learned from David not take things that could bring you down so serious and controll my anger (even though I'm not a angry person) because he is right if he say that they doesn't matter in the end at all.

    When you're in your late teens/early 20s, getting old (like in your 40s ... which I'm not) seems so far into the future, but it's amazing how quick it comes. I was in college not too long ago, it feels like yesterday, and now I'm 30. TBH it's really not a bad thing, getting older. Nothing will ever beat being young, but interests change. I used to only care about chasing girls, playing sports, and partying and stuff, and I never imagined those things wouldn't interest me at some point. Now I only care about my family and doing whatever I can to make them happy. That's not a bad thing. Bottom line, it goes quick. Enjoy it, don't take anything for granted, and don't worry about things you can't control. We all get old ... beats the alternative.
