I was as surprised my car stayed together after spinning into the wall like that! It allowed me to have a great recovery drive. Great broadcast as always! Onwards to the LMP2!
I actually didn't slot behind Evan on lap 2. I'd intended to, but when I looked over to time my move I saw his advance stall, so I slid closer to dictate the corner while my (slightly) cleaner car pulled back forward. That loop on lap 4 was a heartbreaker. Dave had raced me well at the start and I'd fallen away from the lead group's draft, so when I had the chance to use Evan's wake I started getting dumb and greedy; put in too much angle for the corner and was too close to add throttle to stop the spin 🤦
My intention was to let Evan pull me up to Dean, and potentially steal a P2 on the Dottinger. What I didn't bank on was that braking earlier than me into T1. After my lock up, I had no chance. Well, either way I'm happy with P4. I am awful at open wheel cars
