- In a wide-ranging, fast-paced, and free-flowing discussion, the authors of 'The Little Book of Humanist Funerals' - joined by Humanists UK celebrants Zena Birch and Blake Hutchings, and its Director of Ceremonies, Deborah Hooper - explore how humanists have developed their own unique approach to questions about life, death, and mortality over thousands of years. The panel discusses everything from what makes a humanist funeral so special, to what humanists can offer in the way of hope at the end of a life, and why the book contains so much about the meaning of life more generally.
As a person in the USA, I'm so grateful for listening this conversation (and others) by the Humanists UK. Inspired. Encouraged.
I've never been disappointed in any literary endeavor that Professor Alice has been involved with. I look forward to buying and reading this. ✌️from Canada.
This book is a must-read. I have thoroughly enjoyed my copy. Page 23 sums up my views.
As a pauper, l have explained to my family that there will be no funeral or service of any kind; more people should be made aware of this option.
I find Humanism interesting , though i'm not one. The morality interests me. For instance, what have the leading Humanists, AC Grayling, Alice Roberts, and Adam Rutherford said publicly about the crisis in Gaza. I would have thought , as humanists, it would be of prime importance?
Lots of our patrons have said things!
@@HumanistsUK Have they? I looked at the X timelines of the President, former President, vice President and the official Humanists UK X website and I saw nothing about the Gaza genocide. All I saw was Fry’s bleating victimhood. I’d be glad to hear who, among prominent Humanists, have said anything about the genocide?
