A) No this is a myth and it comes from the movie "Enemy at the gates". Every soviet soldier had a weapon to fight the Germans. Q) Ohhh, Flawless why you put soviet tanks in the vid. It is supposed to be every soviet soldier killed. A) Nope. Soviets won the battle of Stalingrad and they had a very big and powerful army with conscripts, regulars, shock troops, artillery and tanks (too many tanks) Q) Ohhh, Flawless, T34s should have been destroyed from the German tanks, why T34s survived the battle ? A) Because T34 was the best medium tank of the WW2 and it was the most difficult tank to get its armor penetrated and actually be destroyed. Q) Ohhh, Flawless why this Soviet shot the wounded German? This is a war crime !!! A) Yes it is a war crime but nobody from the opposing armies was taking prisoners during the battle of Stalingrad. Only when general Paulus (the leader of the 6th German army fighting in Stalingrad) surrendered, the Soviets took prisoners because the battle was actually come to an end. Well for those who watch this who know of Stalingrad's WW2 history. I'd say u somed up how bad every Battle for the town ended up. For Russians it was go forward or be shot by Ally soldier or commander. For Germans it was take from Russia, Hold it until reinforcements arrive when they used up almost all their supplies and equipment to take it back, and then ordered by Commanding Officer that Hitler wants them to stay and dig in. For that I ask, Is there anyway you'd make another on Kursk!
It wasn't that the tank was amazing, it was a good design, it was there where so many, if your tank broke down, you could get another from a nearby factory, most where only meant to last a few weeks at most, but were easily repairable. the welding on them is terrible, but does the job, just like their doctrine for warfare.@Buttrape Bill

Stalingrad battle was more like room-to-room combat, with tanks were hiding behind the buildings, more like modern day combat, but in larger scale. Major tank battles were to the west from Stalingrad with artillery and aviation usage from both sides.

I think operation of Uranus was more of the encirclement of Stalingrad which choked off the supply lines that eventually lead to the defeat of the Nazis. There was more room to room and street fighting combar than the lines just mashing into each other
Yeah one of the effects of Enemy at the Gates on people is thinking USSR just charged soldiers forth and had no competent general staff. There's also the myth No Step Back as Well which didn't even happen that often nor was it how the movie portrayed it. And in Stalingrad there was way more house and window and street to street fighting them in open fields. Believe it or not, neither side was THAT incompetent. Not to take away from this machima it's still great but I wanted to point this out.
Honestly mate, what an amazing film. I absolutely lover the fact that you captured the true horrors of war with soldiers going into shell shock, the psychological warfare of screaming and chanting, and finally all of that bravery being crushed due to the opposing force. I don't think so (I understand that this is machinima, but he could fix it) What the point of attacking in front if you can just go through buildings? And NKVD who were behind soldiers, were taking positions far away for combat. Also Maxim in the beginning could take different position to support attacking force. And why artillery didn't support soviet troops? On other bank of Volga was soviet artillery who could support allied units in no time. In conclusion, I think it good to say that author made short movie about eastern front. It shows bravery of soviet people and thank god there weren't any deserters. By the way, I liked the movie.
It's well done. Just for future reference, all of the tanks depicted are models that would have only come out later in the war, including the Panzer IV (with sideskirts - 1943), T34 (with cupolas etc), T34-85 (only in service a year and a half later), SU 85 assault gun, and what looks like a disabled JS 2 (late war design). I think there's also a disabled Panther in there, which was only introduced in July 1943. Also I don't think MG 42 machine guns were available at Stalingrad either , so that should probably be an MG34. So just some details if you want to achieve greater historical accuracy.
I liked it but really didn't feel like it could be real except out of imagination. The Soviets charging machineguns is quite popular because of the movies so nothing to say on that, but the tanks waiting to everyone is seeming dead at the end doesn't make any sense.

This is what a straffniki battalion looks like. Consists mostly of ex convicts and prisoners of war. The Germans didn't know that some of these guys in Russian uniform were actually german soldiers forced to fight. The purpose of the straffniki battalion was suicide missions. In mode cases, a meat shield to eat up most of the enemies, ammo and supplies and energy. While the regular army waits and attacks afterwards.
How beautiful and so absurd. First, the positions of the artillery works, then the battle is infantry with tanks , so it was in Stalingrad . And of course my favorite...soviet squad with machine guns , shooting at his soldiers . Well, where without them. Without shots in the back , the soldiers will not fight for their homeland ... 🤦♂️ But the video is done well...

But apparently this version of Red Army does not have any mortars or artillery. Well, thanks, really, for not falling to myths about 'one rifle for two soldiers' - it's rare thing nowadays. But this spectacular combat reminds me more of 17-18 century line tactics or Warhammer 40k battles. But I enjoyed it very much in the end.

This is what a straffniki battalion looks like. Consists mostly of ex convicts and prisoners of war. The Germans didn't know that some of these guys in Russian uniform were actually german soldiers forced to fight. The purpose of the straffniki battalion was suicide missions. In mode cases, a meat shield to eat up most of the enemies, ammo and supplies and energy. While the regular army waits and attacks afterwards.
How beautiful and so absurd. First, the positions of the artillery works, then the battle is infantry with tanks , so it was in Stalingrad . And of course my favorite...soviet squad with machine guns , shooting at his soldiers . Well, where without them. Without shots in the back , the soldiers will not fight for their homeland ... 🤦♂️

А не легче обойти с фланга укреплённые позиции, а не лезть на открытом пространстве под град пуль? И почему танки пошли только в конце? Видео сделано классно, с меня лайк. Однако много несостыковок....

Well, thanks, really, for not falling to myths about 'one rifle for two soldiers' - it's rare thing nowadays. But this spectacular combat reminds me more of 17-18 century line tactics or Warhammer 40k battles. But I enjoyed it very much in the end.

Для них нет разницы между их пострелушками на островах и нашим Восточным фронтом. Автор явно не хотел никого оскорбить, просто единственным его историческим источником по Сталинградской битве был фильм "Враг у ворот".
