As a crane operator, i have made a mistake...a pair of 3 ton chains can lift 6 ton weight of mass hahahahaha but no worries, now im a certified lifting supervisor 😁

A crane operator is always responsible for performing a safe lift. If your crane operator can't tell if something is properly rigged, they probably should not be operating a crane.

Only, the basic, is the operator allowed to take their own initiative as the lift is inside the regular training of the operator. Intermediate or complex, the Appointed Person (AP)(the one that makes the lift plan) controls or supervises the lifting operations.
