Support us on: / majaandmarko Dear dancer, media luna is a great introduction to turns (giros) in tango, and so it's worthwhile to study! Abrazos, Maja & Marko
Beautiful and elegant dancers! I like that sequence and I use a lot in the milongas de Buenos Aires (Baires). May I suggest, with the utmost humility, for you and Maja to close your fingers on the back embraces. "El tango es un sentimiento que se baila". I am, certainly, going to recommend your videos to my tango friends.
Thank you so much for another lovely comment. We love to hear from you! We understand where you are coming from but not closing the fingers on the back was our conscious choice. Closed fingers do look more elegant but they take away from the comfort and intimacy of the embrace. We build our tango embrace on a true hug and prefer to keep our hands in a more natural form to feel the partner's body better. It also helps to avoid any unnecessary tension in the frame of the embrace.
Buddy, that is NOT "media luna" ...!
Y la 1/2 luna??
