I absolutely love this Uniden BC125AT scanner. I've had mine for over 4 years now and it still looks and operates like brand new. It is never given me any trouble whatsoever.
It worked!!! I see the download file screen. Thank you so much. Now to find the channels I want then copy, paste and load. Definitely saving this video to walk me through the steps later when I get time to go through the process. We bought a scanner from Radio Shack back in 1990-something, back when you had to buy the big thick books to manually enter--we still have our books. I don't know what ever happened to that scanner and we're a little rusty on how to use them but we'll figure it out with the help of your channel. P.S.....ordered from your warehouse for Christmas gift to me and my husband from Santa.

VHF/UHF comms are line of sight, so I don't know how many miles this antenna reaches (and mountains definitely will block signals), but I have the Diamond RH77CA and it pulls in more than twice as many signals as the stock antenna for me (I'm in an urban area). it's on Amazon around $25
@@grumpy_ken +1 on the RH77. Also, with some rosin core solder and 1/2” copper pipe you can easily make a J Pole antenna. Mounted properly it should have the range you mentioned. Best instructions I found were at www.hamuniverse.com/jpole.html

@Roger Smith Battery life should be similar if not identical between the two models. I would verify that the battery selection switch is set to Ni-MH, It will recharge only if it is turned off, even with the USB cable connecting it to a computer.

This scanner is only analog. If you can't pick up any frequencies, chances are your area is mostly digital, so you'll need to buy a digital scanner. That's a very different system. I have a digital scanner but it still won't pick up police because it's encrypted. They can be complicated and might not be worth the money if your area is encrypted.
i believe its because you have no saved frequencies. if you choose search instead of scan you will be able to scan (search through) all the frequencies.

Hello, thanks for the video. When I hit scan it reads "Scan Mode All Locked!" but when I review locked and hit unlock all, I get the nothing is unlocked hit any key message. What am I doing wrong?
Can anyone answer this question. The BC125AT instructions make it sound like you should charge it from your computer and should not charge it with a USP charger like you would charge your phone with from a wall socket. Is that the case? If so that doesn't make sense because both are supplying an identical 5 volts. Using rechargeable battery's of course.

the airforce use a trunked encrypted radios the only thing you will hear is when they are on the general avation freqs. other then that you cant because of encryption

+April & Rigo Arenivar The BC125AT isn't cable or receiving digital frequencies, You would need a ProVoice Capable Digital radio with the ProVoice upgrade to listen in. Any of these will work, BCD325P2 - BCD996P2 - BCD436HP - BCD536HP - SDS100 & 200 models with the Provoice upgrade.
So once you see the selection you need on screen (example Scan Hits) how do you select it? I can do without any superfluous “you know” or “basically”. You (or someone) needs to make a more comprehensive video showing things like where the “enter” key is, how to “select” options - taking note of how one can get “off the track” and be in The Wrong Screen to execute certain commands., The keyboard and screen, while not large, is quite intimidating to the novice.
I agree. It seems like this video and the Uniden instructions assume you have already used a scanner before and are familiar with the basics and the basic terminology. I do not know what the close call feature is, I do not understand what "banks" are. There needs to be a video for the first time scanner user.

+Ruly Islas Those models are very similar, The BC75XLT is a 300 channel analog scanner which displays the frequency number while scanning, the BC125AT is a 500 channel analog scanner that has alpha tagging which displays the agency name on the screen instead of the frequency. Both of these models have identical reception you would just pick the model that would suit your needs.

The only thing that sucks about this scanner it has to be turned off to charge,it doesn't charge while it's turned on and plugged in.

I've been using a USB AC wall adapter for years with all my handheld Uniden models and have had no issues.
