It is worth noting that if you are using Fusion free, that adding a second sheet as instructed at 10:03, this will give you a prompt to either start a 30 day trial or sign up for the full suite, pricing is provided by AutoDesk.
I was able to follow along by deleting the elevation drawing that I started with and then create the aligned view sheet.
Loving this tutorial series thus far! CAD when I learned it in the mid-late 80's has changed SIGNIFICANTLY!! Thank you for helping me to find a new element to one of my hobbies!

Thank you so much. Ive been watching other tutorials and find it overwheming but I am really loving your getting started series. You explain everything really well and make it easy to understand for beginners. Best tutorial I've seen on Fusion 360 so far. Please make more of these.

This program makes much more sense in my head than FreeCAD.

Thanks for the vids, they are very helpful. In the latest version if you change the dimension units, all the dimension automatically update.

At 5:42 you state that any new dimensions will be driven by document settings. When I changed my document setting to fractional and unit abbreviations it changed my original dimensions.

Excellent job! Very easy to follow. Question. I noticed that the wood grain on the dowel was running perpendicular to the length of the dowel. Is there a way to set grain direction?

Amazing tutorial Sir, God Bless You, I have a question by the way, how to add labels, like in diagram we use to put a line then arrow and put names as labels, is it possible to do that without interfering sketch or 3d motdel? Thanks in Advance

as a classically trained draughtsman that first sheet was giving me the shivers, for a proper drawing things shouldnt just be dotted around the drawing, it should be properly projected as per your second sheet.

Well in this case it's more of a demo of how to add viewports, etc, but it also depends on what you need it for. Now the fact that I had multiple scales on one page? Usually a bad idea

This was very informative. I do have a question... On the front face, would it be possible to insert a measurement that includes the portion above the dowel (and perhaps even further where an imaginary triangle would form?) I've tried doing that, but it stops where the fillet starts, at 10.35 inches, and Fusion doesn't seem to infer any other measurements along that edge. I struggle to understand how someone would be able to recreate the toolbox from wood without that additional measurement.

This is good for a broad stroke sheet. But, how do you do this for 1 component of the entire model? For instance, I've got a shelving wall unit designed. Outer box, 2 vertical dividers and 12 adjustable shelving boards. This will only show, it's sides and whichever detail (zoom) views you create. Without being able to print 2D plans for the specific components, I think this is too broad to be useful (by itself) ;(.
I finally figured out how to do this (might have been self-explanatory to more experienced, but I'm a newbie :)); when you create the drawing, select "Visible." Then, once the initial body is positioned, uncheck all of the components except the one you want to "detail." Then you can create the 3D plan for the "top," "bottom," perspective view, and an edge on perspective. You can use "detail view" to create a "zoom," but I haven't figured out how to rotate a particular perspective view itself, which I think would be helpful. Also, remember perspective views are TOTALLY dependent on the position of it with respect to the body. That's a pain as it ends up minimizing the ability to "step" organize the 2D plans :(

I followed along with you till the end.
I printed it on A (8.5x11) and the lower right PROJECT INFO is massive!
How is it modified to shrink to a more manageable size?

Is there a way to reduce the size of the Information Area?
It is 1/4 the size of the paper - way too big!
Need to shrink it by 1/2

I am having issues with the dimensions. I followed the instructions but I got really odd numbers right off the bat. When I changed it to fractional I got 5/8 for the length instead of 14 1/2" for the back and front and 1 for the sides instead of 25 1/2". I don't know what setting is wrong. Also, even though I chose a page size 11 x 17 when I place the first view in 1:10 or 1:5 etc., it shows up super tiny. Could anyone please help me?
