I know they were doing testing on the water to see what chemicals they were dealing with but in terms of capturing it, I'm not sure. However, the water doesn't build up as much as I'd expect with how much they were throwing around so I think there may have been a sump type area under the car. Possibly just a heap of gravel though. There was a sign on entry to the site saying the land was contaminated so maybe they just let it hit the floor and soak in.
Yeah, great with everything ready to go. What about time waiting for the callout - then the time it takes to get this robot from its trailer and set up. I think it will be of very little benefit - at least it's giving the fire fighters a warm and fuzzy feeling.
I think the robot is more for big incidents. The example scenario that they are simulating is an EV crash and fire in a tunnel. I guess they roll up and fight the fire in full scuba gear and when the robot gets there they can use the robot to help. Frees up 2 fire fighters from holding a hose (although one becomes a robot operator) and also gets the people out of harm's way.
17:20 "If that was an ICE car, the fire would be much bigger..." Lol what absolute nonsense! He must get his sense of reality from hollywood film explosions
Have you not seen real car fires? Sure, they don't explode like in the movies, but they certainly burn. The fire after the break is more like a normal car fire with all the plastics and interior going up along with the airbags going off

Cool vid. Question: where does all the contaminated water go and is it contained for later decontamimination?

Dear Sheng
The water contains fluoride compounds which as you know prevent tooth decay.
Into the Thames ot goes!

Thanks for sharing, looked very controlled
You're welcome. Yeah, especially when using the fire blanket.
Have they tested the Blade Batteries in The BYD cars?
Possibly, apparently they have tested some LFP batteries but I'm not sure what they are from. Next on the cards is a Tesla Y
Kona EV (NMC622 battery). It would be good research to compare an LFP battery car. BYD should donate.
They have a Tesla lined up next but nothing on the cards from BYD but I believe they have done some testing on LFP.

Australian, not british.
Cool
rumours say that the rimac hammond crashed burned for a month!
I'd believe that, though it's probably more like it kept reigniting rather than one continuous burn
Zero emission my A$$. 🙂
This is the same amount of emissions as a trip to grocery in ice car.
