The scariest part is that he isn't necessarily doing anything out of malice. He legitimately wants to help and thinks he is doing the right thing, the daily massacres are just part of the process to him.
Not malice, just apathy beyond apathy in regards to the value of humans dying. It’s a weird duality where he cares about the inmates and wants their lives to improve / for them to rehabilitate but also just could not care less when thousands of them die directly because of him.
So he’s a chaotic good

The scariest part about the warden being an all powerful shape shifter is he is also an idiot. Every catastrophe resulting in an unbelievably high death toll in every episode can be directly traced to him, usually by accident.

He actually fully believes that he’s doing the right thing whole heartedly and he’s kind of a moron, so he can’t be chaotic evil, but what he’s doing is so terrible that he can’t possibly be chaotic good, so chaotic neutral is the balance between what the warden’s actually doing, and what he thinks he’s doing.

Ruthaford Haze I like to imagine that Warden has the power of a god (at least while in Superjail) but he doesn't use his powers for practical reasons since it wouldn't be as fun or chaotic for him. That and he's also insane so it'd make sense that he doesn't use his powers in a smart way lol

Cerwiggle the colouring is like it was done with cheap crayons yet the animation is fluid. It's unique and I find it appealing.

I love how he always has a speech and transformation prepared, like he's the only person I'd genuinely look forward to asking, "How was your day today?"
Ironically I feel like he wouldn’t even have a transformation for that and he would just reply normally (or he would have an existential crisis)
This show could very easily be changed into a psychological horror.

That is true, I've actually seen some animated characters take alcoholic beverages better than he did.

Yeah, David Wain has the naturally high-pitched voice that just makes everything he says charming. I especially love when his voice stays quiet and understated even when he's bouncing off the walls, like during the feast scene.
This isn’t just shapeshifting, this is full on reality warping. The Warden is definitely an omega level mutant of some kind, no wonder his prison is such a Technicolor nightmare. It seems he can’t change the minds of others, nor is he indestructible or all knowing, but he defies the laws of reality casually in every conversation. He does it so frequently that no one brings it up.

Believe it or not- this show was animated in-house on a basic Flash program! It's a marvelous animation for 2009 by any standard... but in-house on Flash? God-like!

Just binge-watched the entire show in one day and man I have absolutely no regrets. I hope one day it'll make a comeback, or at the very least gain a large amount of popularity similar to Clone High. Oh well, I guess only time will tell.

@@tiablue9106 I heard it was silently cancelled, and with how Season 4 went it seemed like it was rushed. Unsure though. I haven't heard of any news or rumors of a fifth season, I will keep my eyes peeled for any recent and reliable information though just in case.
@@tiablue9106 nope cant find any evidence of a fith season allso the way modern adult swim is today they probaly wouldn't have the balls to financially support something like this (if Alice was released today they would probably be crucified) with the current management as they have developed far more of a stereotypical corporate mindset after rick and morty went mainstream they just don't have the freedom of creative expression that they use to that aloud for something this unique

I love him and this show. The animation is so fluid and versatile and the colors in the action sequences are incredible. Whenever I'm feeling creatively blocked, I revisit this show and am almost always inspired. I miss it

For me creative inspiration tends to come from really complex plots or really cool looking sets/outfits. The nonsensical tends to be mine to come up with, while the practical comes from outside.
It's the literal philosophy of Dynamism put in violent contexts whenever those action sequences kick in.

From what I gathered it didn't seem like super jail was on earth or in a dimension that really had death. Prisoners got killed but came back later. I wouldn't doubt it if the warden was immortal. He has been killed a couple times but never actually died
While warden is freaking insane, you gonna admit that he looks like the type of guy you would have one hell of a time with, as long as you survive his shenanigans of course.

Mr. Pickles is basically a show that relies near entirely on a cutesy family setup being at odds with the dark tone and gross art style.
It lacks the balls, nuance and effort required to reach the same heights in animation and obtuse story telling that Super Jail achieves.

I find it odd how no one ever questioned nor was it explained how the Warden can shapeshift.
ShakeFan14 - The dimension Superjail is in allows him to control everything at will, most notably himself.
Super Jail is simply a pocket dimension meant to contain the warden, who is actually a manifestation of Nyarlathotep. They send him these deranged criminals to sate his violent urges so he does not brimg chaos upon our own universe.

I've come to love just about everything about Superjail, even when I don't see eye to eye with it. The one component of the show that is consistently incredible is the animation behind the Warden. He is easily one of the finest-animated characters in cartoon history.
He's like Willy Wonka only less evil.

Every episode is like this:
- Warden thinks of a new thing to do with prisoners.
- Jared the assistant objects.
- Some POV prisoners like the gay couple, scorched guy, and intro guy are shown.
- Warden's idea causes a 3 to 5 minute long bloodbath animated with extremely excessive gore.
- Something happens to resolve the conflict. The Warden, Jared, Jailbot, etc.

Sort of a bad guy. He does lots of messed up and sometimes evil things but he's also insane and was never taught right from wrong due to having an abusive father.
He kills prisoners that do the most messed up shit to mankind. I'd label him good, but at the same time, he kills with pleasure. And there are many times he has displayed flaws that outweigh the. . . "good". It's really all up for debate. I'd take the side of him being good, he simply takes bad people and kills them. He could just as easily start taking innocent lives, but he doesn't. He does this all in a prison full of atrocious people.

The show had so much potential but it was dealt a short hand due to a switch to a production house that couldn't adapt as quickly as it should.
Season 1 followed by season 3 are by far my favorite seasons of this show. 2 was too tame and formulaic, and 4 tried way too hard.
I had no idea this show had a fanbase. I only really watch it for the twins.
