Hes fathers collaboration with Ry Cooder is still one of my favorite fusion albums ever and i discovered Vieux because of hes collaboration with Dave Matthews.
Love this guy. Thanks so much for the interview Amoeba! Saw him live at Band on the Wall in Manchester UK (shoutout to them if they read this) and it was honestly one of the most Electrifying gigs I've had the pleasure to be at. I was sat on the top balcony and the vibes were so good I ended up coming down and dancing near the stage by the end of it ! 🙏
Love him. Got to take photos of his set at the Pickathon music festival outside of Portland a few years ago and he was fantastic, and really nice when I talked to him afterward.
Or maybe, it’s because this guy grew up in the 1990’s (albeit in Africa) during the death of Vinyl and the boom in CDs. Some of those albums he picked haven’t been/are rarely repressed on Vinyl.
Fabulous. His new album with Khruangbin is wonderful.
I love Vieux's selection of music. Some of my favorite also
Knowing the deep roots of the blues in Mali, it's touching that Ali Farka Touré had such reverence and respect for John Lee Hooker.

Yes! I agree with ya “Talking Timbuktu” such an awesome album.

I can see exactly where he gets his influences! Awesome!
Love how he's calling out his homies from home, and then drops Phil Collins on us.
He’s so great! I interviewed him for my World Music Show awhile ago.
Bless you Vieux Farka Toure, and your loved ones!
His father never played a not that wasn't beautiful, and he's not far behind. His story about learning from Toumani Diabate is incredible.
What an absolute genius. The whole family are amazing.
I can highly recommend his "Paris Sessions" version of Diarabyl By the Touré - Raichel Collective. One of the most beautiful songs ever.
I've listened to Vieux' music so much seeing him here feels like hanging with an old friend. Drop by next time you're in SF!
Thanks for featuring Tracy 🙌
Yes! Legend. His new album is increible.

Enlightening, thank you.

Finally someone with some real taste!
2nd!
Kids, as you can see, non-hipsters pick mostly CDs because they know they sound superior to vinyl.

They sounds the same as streaming so no real point of difference.
Stupid comment, Freddy. Trying to talk down to people about a subject you know nothing of.
Obviously never heard a really nice vinyl rig
Can we please stop using this played out word that was already overused more than a decade ago?
I'm not... am I.... FIRST?
Where is Elon muskrat?
