I understand Mahidevran's pain and I really felt sorry for her in the first episode. But she completely lost my sympathy in this one. It's understandable that she sees Hurrem as a rival, but that doesn't give her the right to treat her inhumanly. She isn't entitled to Suleiman's love. In later episodes, Hurrem also becomes guilty of this, as she kills concubines even when she only suspects they slept with the sultan and didn't even confirm it yet (I'm talking about Nadia) So both of these women were evil. Mahidevran was much worse, but Hurrem is no angel

Where as hurrem only has eyes for him. It's true hurrem isn't angel. Just she is unquestionable when it comes to loyalty even over her own children

I’d argue that she learned of manipulation and ambition along the way, not from the start. At this stage she was still very childish and behaved naturally as she felt which is normal and understandable as she was a teenager. As for arrogance, she wasn’t arrogant for talking back to Mahidevran, she responded to provocation and mocking. Mahidevran wanted to mess with her and taunt her, so Hurrem replied that her name is Hurrem which is why Hafsa threw her in jail.
The soulfull connection between sultan and hurrem is so touching. He can almost feel her call him. The connection is unique
