A rear main seal is responsible for keeping oil inside the rear of the engine where the crankshaft connects to the transmission, and for keeping dirt and debris outside. This video explains potential causes of a rear main leak, and why a leak in the rear main seal can be very problematic for these two reasons:
    1. The oil pressure in the rear of the engine is higher than elsewhere in the system. Therefore, even a small crack or hole can quickly spread oil all over the transmission.
    2. The rear main seal is more difficult to remove and replace than other engine seals.
If a hard part repair is not an option, or not necessary, a cost-effective option is our BlueDevil Rear Main Sealer. It is guaranteed to stop these leaks permanently, restoring seals to their original condition.

I used this on my Honda Odyssey. I had a small leak and after two weeks it seems like the leak has stopped. My only concern was that I am almost due for an oil change but after watching this video I feel better about draining the old oil with the additive in it.

Replaced all 3 seals on my polo 1.2 tsi and after all that excessive oil still spilling out my timing case cover also wetting the timing belt. After watching this video I'm quite certain it's the rear main seal especially after hearing the causes as well. I'll come back a few days later for confirmation

I couldn't find a more recent Blue Devil rear main seal repair video so I'll comment here. I have an 06 Silverado 4.3 with >170,000 miles on it. Several months ago the rear main began leaking. I finally made an appointment with a former GM tech to replace the seal for an estimated $800. That was supposed to happen to day, 11/29/2022. I am usually skeptical of miracle auto chemicals but what the heck. I've seen video after video on several products. But on Sunday afternoon I decided to take Advance up on their email giving me 25% off. I ordered this stuff and went to Advance to retrieve it. I poured it in right there in the parking lot. Round trip was about 15 miles. I decided to park on the clean side of my driveway much to the dismay of my wife. OK, I don't get it. It's supposed to take longer than that to work, right. Folks, Monday morning there was maybe a quarter size drop on the concrete and it was leaking way worse than that before. I drove quite a few miles yesterday. This morning the new spot is dime size. Can this stuff really be this good? I am beyond satisfied and just hoping that it lasts..

It generally takes between 200 - 300 miles before you will notice full results from the BlueDevil Rear Main Sealer.

@BlueDevilProducts Would a second application be necessary? My leak stopped for a while, but after changing oil, it's leaking again
