First visited the cave in 1975 during the third term school holidays....I was at the time a Fifth former at Marist Brothers High School in Suva.... perhaps the best secondary school in Fiji at the time. Was showed around the Sawa I Lau caves by an uncle. Later whilst in Government, I again was honoured to have taken a group of senior civil servants to the caves. In about a dozen times whilst visiting these caves in the past, I was always fascinated at the splendour sight of these Yasawan wonder and the many folklore stories of its past were often equally intriguing and bewildering to say the least.
