I'm an interior designer and I'm wondering if any of those (except number 4) really studied the same course as me. Not intended to be mean but we are trained to do way better and to correspond to the client expectations! But well, it's nice to see fresh ideas, mainly the Simpsons room! 😁
sorry, but I agree. These designs are terrible…very juvenile and nothing like what the client asked for. Jenny and David could design something far more luxe and functional on their own, and by saving on the “designer’s” fee you could pay a good workman to professionally install (ask your flooring guys for an expert recommendation if they can’t do it themselves).
on the other hand made me believe that i can be an interior designer. i know how to model and render too! and as someone who is just letting go of graphic design school prejudices, i love to see untainted approaches. it's pure and it has heart!
I'm kind of surprised the options weren't a bit better . . . When you described what you wanted (the brief), I had a clear idea in my head and none of the submissions looked like the idea in my head. But #4 was the best.
Oh I love it! My favourite designs are Number One and Number Four. I think it’s ingenious to create steps under which you can store stuff. Having sleek looking drawers is a beautiful idea!
Taking the handles off the drawers to make storage less obvious would be a smart way to go ;) love the ideas, glad to see some renovation stuff underway on top of your novel tho in sure that can’t be easy to juggle
If you paid them to come up with designs, they should have all respected your parameters. If there were a reason a client's requirements cannot work, it's on the designer to communicate that.
I'd like a combination between 2 & 4 to be honest. Mostly because of the seat in 2. It will be a nice place to sit and be cozy, read a book when it's raining outside etc. But I agree in fully covered storage space and no railing. You don't want others to see your storage space and you want to be able to literally hide things not just decorate it
4 is fav. for sure! The heavy-terrazzo-tile-problem can be solved by a sturdy corpus. Steel frame would def. hold up. But also well furnished sturdy wood frame would do.
Hi Jenny! Out of all of them, #4 is definitely the most reasonable and close to what you have asked for. However, I think I can present another option to you! I am an LA based interior designer, minimalistic design is my jam. Let me know if you are still needing realistic, functional, and budget conscious ideas. Much love
I agree with your design taste. The only change I would make to the one you chose is to have 2 doors on each side instead on 4. Or even better 1 on each side but, I don’t know the actual measurements and if it’s possible with the weight. This would allow you to store more things like throws etc. I agree with the no wood on the drawers.
I would take 4 but have the stone on the tops only, make the draw fronts out of a wood that you use in the same room with push to open mechanism and the understair white or black but monochrome, so it’s not too much pattern
Love these perhaps it would be better to something with an top opening lid - which could be on heavy duty - gas openers - instead of doors if you have your heart set on the terzo wrap. That way the weight of the tiles goes down instead of hanging off something.
Love the video! Your comments made me laugh out loud! Is it possible to lower the window/door instead? Couldn't figure out where the balcony's floor is though. Please keep us updated on your renovations!
there's always revisions to be made, and designer #4 has the structure right. i'd think if the construction is done with something sturdy, it can be covered in your beloved terrazzo. i'm curious, would they make tiles in 1/2 thickness for the drawer fronts?
I think the entire thing should be a staircase with drawers, I don't get why it's necessary to highlight the middle part, you're not going to be opening the drawers and walking on it at the same time, you can have storage in the middle too! I think you could have a thinner slice of the terazzo for the doorfronts so it is cohesive.
If I can't change anything, definitely 2nd. And even if I could, I'd probably get 2nd It looks like the storage could be used as steps as well if you remove the handles. If the stone is too heavy, maybe cool grey shade of wood instead of that one 🤔
Hello, option 4 looks like the most suitable for you. I would make the stairs a little wider and open the drawers without handles. So more minimalistic, but more expensive. For my projects, I use a podium on wooden structures, but there is a vinyl or carpet covering. With porcelain stoneware terrazzo there will be a heavy podium, with concreting. Then you should not make the stairs wider.
Mustard subs please help. I am searching for some wine glasses she recommended a while back, but I cant find the right video. They are shaped like a stem+circle+cylinder, if that makes sense to you.

"Have fun with it, be creative". Sounds like they did exactly what she asked.

It's fiver... I think anyone can offer their "skillset" with a few references on there 🤔

Looks more like the budget for the designs was very small
Loving the way you say your feedback 😂 you find something good even on the horrible designs 😂 and with a little bit of sarcasm

I agree with taking the handles off. I like the whole thing wood. And maybe the stairs wider.

I would like to know how much you paid to each person as well and whether the price has an influence on the outcome.
Yes!
Yes number four. Change the black handles to match the wood or choose acrylic handles so they blend in. Why make the drawer handles stand out?

I agree with you! Style 4 is also my favourite! 👍😊

#4 for the win. Just have it done all in the terrazzo you love.

I don't get the first 3 designs? Like it's nothing like you asked for
For my home it really helped to look at custom closets providers, they also desinfectar all kinds of furniture for storage 😉
Maybe you’ll have to go for long-term storage where you lift the top of the step off rather than having drawers made of tiles? Like a secret vault
If I can't change anything, definitely 2nd. And even if I could, I'd probably get 2nd

number 4 but with the width of the staircase of 2 and 5 and with no handles. maybe only the top step has the tile and everything else is wood?
Super awesome video concept:)
Hejsan Jenny) Your hair looks gorgeous. It grows out so fast. Have you got any tips?
In that case I would makes wood stair steps in a wawe shape, wall to wall and only put terrazo on the top slice line of each : )
Number four is definitely my favorite.
Thanks Jenny Mustard!
Did you pay everyone $5?
4 - but without the lowest step that sticks out from the others?
if you need any other 3D renders in high quality for any other room let me know id love to work on it!

the fish in the fish tanks are different in design 5 hehe
I'd pick the last one cuz it has 4 cat beds. But I'm biased for cat comfort
