Probably the best comment here. What’s a manufacturer to do when Kizer changed the Vanguards design, and they have tons of pre-cut handles, blades, and machinery set-up to assemble them? Right…offer them up, at a discounted price, to anyone offering to buy it all? Most likely what happened here. Great call my man.
Thanks for showing these lesser known brands. You never know who is going to become the next Remette, right? When I used to work in the trst department and field service, this would be the go-to. Maybe not the typical EDC, but it definitely looks like a good work knife.
I like the carbon fiber overlay version. I was recently given an " icon" brand drop point folding knife with ceramic bearings and d-2 stainless steel metal. Also has a carbon fiber inlays with a shark- fin shaped flipper and it has a liner-lock that is pretty precise.
I got this knife for free from Amazon to review, and the first thing that hit me was just how heavy it was and how slippery the carbon fiber scales were. I got used to it and I really do like this knife. It's got an interesting profile and really does look like an Orca. I pretty much agree with your whole review. I think I gave it 4 stars even though it has S35VN on a knife of this price. I'm not thoroughly convinced that this is S35VN, and if it is, what kind of heat treatment it has. I also don't like it when they say Carbon Fiber, without saying it's just an overlay.
The great thing about cheap no names and premium steel is that almost no one can check their claims. And the cheaper they are the happier people will be and the more they believe it.
I bought one of the ones in S35VN when they went on sale a month or so ago. I like it, mine came razor sharp, perfectly centered and is crazy drop shutty, a guillotine. The one thing that I thought was very odd is that when using the flipper tab, the detent feels very weak. But when trying to use the thumb studs it feels like the blade is welded shut. I can't finger flick it at all and can only barely thumb flick it. I gotta watch the video again to see if he flicks it at all,,,,,I think he only used the flipper tab. All that said though, As long as the blade is actually s35vn with a good heat treat and hardness, I really like the knife overall. Feels great in the hand.
Yeah I like the budget 14c28n Micarta you really only see micarta in solid colors so seeing it multi colored is nice and refreshing in the budget range (I’m just not a fan of black just because any and every knife has a black version and I love color) I bought the olight drever which looks cool and the rubato 3 in orange because I’ve bought few knives in green like the variety and colors and can’t wait
I carry two knives, a "large" and a "small" knife. As for preferred weight(s), that would be whatever the Gerber Paraframe and Paraframe Mini weigh 😃. They are made of somewhat soft steel and can lose an edge pretty easily, BUT I'm VERY good with a honing steel, so they stay very sharp 😅. By the way, great steels are getting harder and harder to find anymore. 😐 One of my steels is 40+ years old now.
If the material is what it says it is, and heat treated well, id say its a nice knife. I do like the blade shape. But it seems to be missing alot of finer details.
For a CPM steel.. I don't think I'd mind paying $80-$100 It's like buying a cheap Corvette cause someone put it together cheaply.. no thanks. Id rather just buy within my means.. a good build is more important than the billboarding. With that said.. I still want one lol.
Looks like a good design but man am I skeptical. Unless these are made and assembled in a factory staffed and overseen by literal unpaid labor and also heat treated by unpaid labor, there is no way that's S35VN. I suppose even if it is, the heat treatment on it has to be super limp. Keep us updated.

I'm fairly certain 35 to $40 s35vn steel Is heat treated with a hair dryer lol
I know I get it thy need to make videos but they don't have to BS people.
That Umogi Orcas is a exact copy of the old Kizer Vanguard V4423A3.
Looks like its made by the same manufacturer, like it's not even really a copy and is the same knife but just sold under a different brand.
@@bettinanstevens9259 like those restaurants that have four ghost kitchens on UberEATS and DoorDash.

Interesting design. It reminds me of another I've seen. The lanyard hole should be closer to the but to be practical
Thanks for showing these lesser known brands. You never know who is going to become the next Remette, right?
When I used to work in the trst department and field service, this would be the go-to. Maybe not the typical EDC, but it definitely looks like a good work knife.
I also prefer the look of the 14C28N - Micarta Wave one 👍
I like the carbon fiber overlay version. I was recently given an " icon" brand drop point folding knife with ceramic bearings and d-2 stainless steel metal. Also has a carbon fiber inlays with a shark- fin shaped flipper and it has a liner-lock that is pretty precise.

These knives are for mall ninjas to show off to their single friends when they aren't bragging about their wall hanger katana.
I have one also plenty of testing done. The thing is a beast.
That's pretty cool they sent to review. Was it a random thing or is there a place to sign for reviewing products?
@superskunkpa Amazon Prime Vine Program. They sent me an invitation a couple of years ago.
No way that is real S35VN for that price. Send them to LTK for testing. I bet it comes back 9CR or 10CR.
Or D2 😂

@@Mike_Y. could be, I will at least give them credit for a stainless.

You can't convince me to buy a new knife again already. I just paid for a Hid yesterday 😂
Those look sweet never considered a kitchen knife until I saw the hid
That is a great knife for a young teen who loses their stuff a lot. Nice steel and a price that I would not cry over if lost.
I bought one of the ones in S35VN when they went on sale a month or so ago. I like it, mine came razor sharp, perfectly centered and is crazy drop shutty, a guillotine.

@@Sanguivore right it does
Hardness 58-60 according to the Amazon link. Also according to Amazon page it just says carbon fiber (not overlay) and charges a few bucks more.
Not gonna waste time unpacking them. Proceeds to unpack them😅

Amazing steel on a budget knife!
Well no matter what anyone else says.... I am the winner of the first knife you showed
Love your videos straight to the point and very informative when I look to buy a knives I look to see if you done a video on it
Digging the 14c micarta Orcas more than the S35vn. I would not mind seeing an deep dive test/review on this brand.
That looks exactly like a kizer!!
Thanks for showing beez
Ok knife ppl help me out. Hate the spyderhole and have seen a device that gives the hole a tab like switch. Whats that called? Pls and ty

sizable knives with interesting blade shape
I can test then at a local shop. Iv been planning to go
They lowered the discount to 20%, and I'm unsure as to the pedigree of their S35VN.
Looks a bit like a worse Kizer Sparrow (designwise) which often goes on sale for a comparable price ($40-50)
Not too bad lookin & price is GREAT for the steel !
Looks VERY much like an older kizer model. No big deal, long discontinued, but I think it's a copy design.
it would be to see in side them thanks Beez see you at the hive
Sweet brotha your videos give me ideas for what I need to do on mine 😂
It reminds me of a Hinderer
Great video at the hive
LAPG also dropped the TBFK in s35vn years back. Turns out it was like 55hrc. Trash heat treat, but real s35vn, just ruined
Looks like a good design but man am I skeptical.
Unless these are made and assembled in a factory staffed and overseen by literal unpaid labor and also heat treated by unpaid labor, there is no way that's S35VN. I suppose even if it is, the heat treatment on it has to be super limp.

Nice new knives.

Good review, Beez. Not my cup O tea. Thanks
That first one is mean looking.. thanks beeez
Very nice for the price
Like all three..... Nice!
No way its s35vn with good heat treatment
Literally my thoughts exactly.
Definitely some bigger knives. I don't know about s35vn though..🤔 we'll have to see . thanks for sharing Beez 😊
Very nice 👍
Wish this was a button liner lock , I really like the ergos but I like my button locks Cant wait til Friday 😜
Kind of vanilla... Same knife, different scales. $30 knife at best. Plenty of better knives for that amount of money
lol, "POW! Right in the kisser!"
Wasn't expecting a Calvin and Hobbes reference on a knife channel!
Actually, Calvin and Hobbes was referencing The Honeymooners... It's a Ralph Kramden quote... you know... Jackie Gleason... damn... I feel old now...
A keeper
That is a Kizer sovereign clone!
That's not S35VN at that price. I wouldn't give 50 cents for on.
May just be me, but I hate that (Orca) blade shape….ugh.
These are sexy though especially the price!
