    LOL wow, I was looking for watering ideas, and you popped up. I clicked your link below for the wobbler. When I looked up the company info, I was shocked to find out, It's only 20 minutes from my house..lol Thanks!!!

    Hey Seth, here is an idea you can add a shut off timer on the line so you can set it to turn on and off to run for a specific time. I have one on my solar heating coil for my pool and it works great.

      You're a mind reader. I have the orbit digital timer ready to go for a video soon. I was going to save that for when I've actually planted the garden. Because the wobbler uses so little water I figure it will need to run most of the night. Would be very convenient for it to turn on by itself.

    The biggest with a sprinkler system like those or others . It waters the whole area which now the weeds will grow as well. I started using a bubbler system and it has reduced a ton of weeds, .

    This is great! I've heard good things about those wobblers. Do you hace any plans for reviving the spinning river pump project? I have a creek with lots of flow but very little head... when I finish my priority projects I may start tinkering.. thanks for the video

      Thank you. I've been using the wobbler for the garden and for my grass and it has been very effective. Someday I do want to get back to the river pump but with the Micro Hydro and lawn mower shed and 30-plus + Ram pump videos I don't think it's going to happen this year.

    That was just the project for me watch, I was looking at the wobblers for my garden this year we have low pressure and low flow water. Two full wraps of teflon tape covering the full width of the threads actually in contact will do the job and can be easier to assemble. Please tell is about the other sprinkler head when you use it. Thank you

      I have one in the garden and one on the hill for grass. They have been working flawlessly! In the next week or so I hope to have a a dedicated video showing the two types of heads.

    I'm looking to use a ram pump from a 275 gallon ibc tank that I'm going to harvest rain water in. It will be used to water a 40x50ft plot using wobblers. If I elevate the tanks is this feasible?

    • @jllaine
      @jllaine 3 роки тому

      Feasible yes, but practical no. the ram pump will let 225 gallons of the water run out to pump 50 gallons to your wobbler sprinklers. Look instead for a solar powered fish pond pump.

    I’ve used wobblers for years. They’re the best.
    Would it be better to filter the water from the ramp pump before it’s goes to your tank?

    • @LandtoHouse
      @LandtoHouse  4 роки тому

      Yes I think that it would! I now have a filter on the hose here at the garden. I will have to see how often I clean that filter. If its not often I will put it up at the tanks.

      @@LandtoHouse I use a restaurant style China cap filled with coarse sand as a filter going into the tank (old pool filter) around thirty gallons that I pump the water to the garden. I fill this tank from many 55 gallon drums that I hold the collected rain water in. I have been using a hand held hose but haven't been happy with pulling the hose around the raised beds. I'm going with a wobbler next year - 23 X 25 garden. Any suggestions on the size of the Wobbler that I should use?

    How much lift and run do you have from the creek? Very nice sprinkler.

    • @LandtoHouse
      @LandtoHouse  4 роки тому +1

      The lift from the ram pump to the storage tanks is approximately 35 ft. The head pressure back down to sprinkler is about 20 to 25 ft

  • @timhewitson9424
    @timhewitson9424 4 роки тому

    I'm going to be using 1000 litre water storage tanks.
    Built up about 6ft on a wooden structure for gravity fed drip line.
    Will a ram pump addition to this work if so are you selling them still?
    I'm hoping to be able to over head irrigate aswell as drip line.

    • @LandtoHouse
      @LandtoHouse  4 роки тому

      The ram pump would be great to fill that tank from a creek. It would not be good to use for building pressure out of the tank. Too much water would be lost out the waste valve.

    May I use liner water ramp pump in canals to give water for hight fields

    • @offroadz4861
      @offroadz4861 4 роки тому

      Yeah you could do that but the ram pump has to be below the canal at least 1 ft down for 5 ft up

    You mentioned putting a quick disconnect on the end of the line to clean easier. I would add another small in line shut off between the QD and the wobbler. (So it stays with the wobbler with whatever setting you leave it at). That way you can set it to just hit the perimeter once for the flow, with the main stop at the spigot open to full. Next time you can easily turn the wobbler on by going to full on at your spigot and have it perfectly adjusted.

    • @LandtoHouse
      @LandtoHouse  4 роки тому

      That is a really good idea. I actually did that on the other wobbler on the grass. It makes a nice reducer so the spray does not go too far. Next week I have a video with a screen filter at the garden to keep the debris out.

      @LandtoHouse  4 роки тому +1

      Yes I have 155 gallons on the hill. then when that runs out the ram pump will directly feed this system at .5gpm.

      A constant flowing creek is a must. You could at least fill a few tanks for when the creek is dry.

    Thank you for beginning your testing of the Wobbler. I've linked to this video and started a discussion on the Water Powered Pumps public Facebook group: facebook.com/groups/240458583255303/permalink/558595924774899/
    So far, your results have been similar to mine. I've tested with a gravity feed from a stream in a gully. While I had lots of water from a 2 inch layflat hose, by the time I reduced the size and connected to multiple 3/4 inch hoses connected together (slightly down hill) with the external and internal part to the normal coupling, I reduced the water to not very much, so I'd like to use poly pipe - is there a way we can use an external connector for the longer runs (similar to PVC external connectors)? The constriction may not matter and be useful for one Wobbler, but hoping to string multiple Wobblers and other sprinklers to cover larger areas - this is where where I ran into issues.
    I have the larger all black Wobblers (just what I got - I'll get include of the smaller ones on the next order) and I also purchased a nozzle collection of sizes since I didn't know which size I should use. I have only used the largest nozzle size hoping for bigger droplets for more water volume, greater resistance to wind and hopefully more tolerance of silt in the line - the best nozzle size may depend on the situation.
    I purchased one of the tripods to mount the Wobbler higher which was great for testing, but I wouldn't use it for a permanent installation - for on the ground, so far I just used the base from a pulsating sprinkler for testing. In my case, the height of the Wobbler made some difference for increasing diameter, but not enough to bother for that reason and the higher height did give a little more wind exposure. The reason I lifted the Wobblers was to clear taller grass and small shrubs with the water. I didn't measure the water coverage at different locations in the circle - but everything seemed to be getting wet.
    The Wobbler is not really a sprayer - it slings raindrop like droplets out which are fairly tolerant to wind and evaporation in the air and once the drops hit the ground, unlike some sprayers. When you get hit by a Wobbler droplet - you know it. The pattern is a circle, not a rectangle, so we'll have to plan accordingly.
    One plan is to have multiple ram pumps each driving as many Wobblers at it can handle. I have to figure out some type of rotation, because always having the water on, is not good for the grass and in some cases erosion.
    Thank - thank you I've been waiting for this video - looking forward to your Wobbler / direct ram pump test.

    • @davebean2886
      @davebean2886 4 роки тому

      Somewhat sorry about the previous long post - If I single out one issue, it would be how well can one or more Wobblers run directly from a ram pump (without using a gravity feed tank).

    That is not true I have seen plenty of water systems like yours. They are quite common for use on farms for their irrigation systems. Their a lot of old commercially manufactured ram pumps in operations today on farms up in Main, New Hampshire, and Vermount. They us them for water crops and for watering cows on the dairy farms. They are a great low cost irrigation solution for the small family farm.
