Yea i remember one day i was at a family party with my parents and i got bored and drove home and i smelled something weird in the house but at first i didn't mind it intill it got stronger and i could hear something out side by my house like a sequel and i called my pops and he didn't really know what was going on and then i went back inside then i call him again cuz the smell was getting worse then he came and he had a feeling it was a gas leak called 911 then the firefighter said that i was lucky and that it could have exploded my house and my 2 neighbors houses as well

The way to prevent this is to just use electric.

Our old house had electric, but our new house has gas. You HAVE to have a gas water heater and furnace up here in Michigan.

This just must be how they do it in California because I work for a utility company and we NEVER advise a customer to open their windows, the first thing you do is evacuate, you NEVER turn any appliances off or on, you need to open the door to leave of course but you would call your utility company not 911, I don't know it was 3 years ago but seems incorrect

useful info but i find the video editing pretty unnecessary... are you guys making a video to enjoy while eating popcorn? i feel like if you just tell people this is a video of a gas explosion and this is how you prevent it, they will hear 130% of what you have to say.

it's not just your house, but everyones house will be affected especially if that is in city where homes are just near or connected to each other. My dads house was burnt when I was young. The neigbors thank exploded the fire was blowing so hard it was 11pm and My grandma keeps scolding me to go to sleep but I can't. I suddenly ehard screaming already. My dads hosue was burnt nothing was left, all important things were burnt including pictures. We lost all our picstures and things. My grandmas house was also partially burnt. You also need to be worried about teh fireman of the government since they are abusive. My grandma was asking to spray her house quickly but they were charging us negotiating money. Than the volunteers came form chinatown and they argued because they tell them it's their territory, but fire doesn't have any rule of that, everyone can help with fire. The fireman were just wanting to get money from my grandma. If there is fire first thing you need to take is family, children, pets, papers, documents, passports, diplomas, transcrift, birthcert, all sorts of papers and include your picstures and albums, jewelries and money and passbook etc. It's all important, life first and then the easy light important things should be taken quickly. That is why it's important you know where it is and you always have to keep all this important things in one place. All sorts of things are not important, clothes and appliances and things can be bought again. The pics is also important since you cannot get it again especially if you didn't save it on pc, we don't have computer or internet during that time, no cellphones yet. The documents is also important since it will be hard to process again, the money and jewelries and valuable but light and easy to carry. make sure all your animals are out. My third cousins store was also burnt, rumors said the entire building was burnt by owner because they have to renovate and increase teh price of commercial space. They usually take big rats and they dip in gasoline to burn a commercial space. The bolt was also missing, the diamonds and money. If it isn't teh fireman it's the bystanders who took it. But i think it's fireman since they are the first in the scene. When my dads and gradmas house was burnt we move to our aunts for a while. Another bad thing happened was, we left without calling electric and water connection. The thieves started to destroy pipes and they took whatever they can get. So the water was exploding for a long time, nobody reported it since everyone was taking advantage of the water. We got billed so high because of that. Than teh electricity we thought was off, but they put it back, so the thieves also connected the wires and we got billed super high. We didn't able to process right away and attend to the burnt house, we just left for a long time so we were surpised with what happened. The houses were constructed again but it is already for rent. fire and thieves are always together, when tragedy happens thieves takes advantage. Help is not always real, sometimes some of them are just thieves.

"...and finally you make sure you evacuate your home."
    What? Wait, WHAT???
Fist evacuate everybody, then do the rest. You can buy a new home but you can't buy new lives.

this days, the gas stoves are not strong especially if that is cheap. It gets rusty and the metals are too thin. The hose should be replaced frequently, the hose will also soften when it gets old or if it is expose outside. Digital electric stoves are also not safe so better always remove the plug after used. The gas should always be check, the tank is also not good sometimes there is too much rust and the metal is thinning out already and very fragile. If the tank gets bump or it scratch the floor when you roll or drag it, it can spark and explode. It's also better to always blow the air with exhaust fan, if you don't have exhaust fan you can just put a fan at the window and blow out whatever smoke and gas you have inside the house. Even the hair curlors it is sometimes exploding too, it pass the standard and it is sold in malls but still not good. christmas decors are also dangerous it can burn your house so better unplug it if your going out. Never lock pets in cages if you will go out, if they are in cages make sure they are outside the yard not in the house, incase the house burns the pet is not inside the house, or pet can have a chance to jump outside or be taken by somebody. Never chain them too. The heavy sleepers usually burns they cannot feel anything and sense anything, I am a very light sleeper I can't sleep deep so I am very sensitive to anything. Unlike those who sleeps deep, sometimes there is already fire and they are still sleeping. SOme people doesn't wake up no matter what you do, even if you pinch them. If your frying and it spills and fire goes to the pan, never spill water. Just quickly turn off the stove and gas and grab a big rug and cover the fire it will die because it suffocates without exygen. If you are cooking barbecue you need to splash it with water after used. The charcoal is still burning and can still cause fire, or there are some tiny fire flowing out if there is air. I usually splash water after used. Never remove pots and pans on top of gas stove as well when it is hot because the cat might jump and will burn their toes. If you have children always shut off your gas, because they can turn on stoves, or electric stoves. Just remove plugs and shut off everything.

here in my place it is annoying since, the people outside will burn leaves and garbages. they also burn the weeds and grasses and bushes and than they call fire station over and over. They feel lazy cutting the bushes so they will just lite it up and expect the fire man to stop the fire. It happens many many times, squatters outside always does it.
