      The colour you harvest isn´t a "fungus" It´s a smal insekt. Cochineals (Dactylopius coccus)

      I just know they are edible. I grew one like 15 years ago as a decoration, but never knew they are edible. Gonna try some recipes now.

      Wonders never cease! In Kenya, cactus grows wild and it's of no use or value. Occasionally,the fruit of the cactus is plucked and eaten by herders or whoever comes across it just for fun.

      We have these in South Africa. My brother taught to first check the wind direction before harvesting so the thorns don't blow into your eyes

      I like thefact that nothing goes to waste, every part is used efficiently, though they could've found a solution for the stickers that are fed to the livestock.

      Dragon fruit has gentler skin and easier to eat seeds, but I prefer the juiciness and taste of the original.

      In Tunisia we have too many cactuses with their cactus pears, but I hate their pins that hurt my hand and quite impossible to remove it
