In my opinion, Taemin as a solo atist has a specific style that only he has and the only one who tries new things to perform in his music. TAEMIN represents what cannot be precisely defined in the approach to gender and role play in the MV music video, and the choreography is so multidimensional and unpredictable that it is difficult to classify it into a specific genre.
I am impressed that it is once again pushing the boundaries and not being pigeonholed
The piano he identifies with, women's clothing, makeup, and even some choreographies have been mixed up to accommodate male and female aspects and showed off a beautiful tattoo

Thank you for reacting to our very SHINee Taemin. Taemin and SHINee are legends in Kpop. They are considered the "Gold Standard" that everyone tries to reach, specifically for their insane live vocals and harmonies, as well as their killer live performances. In fact, they are considered CDnees (CD eaters) because, more often than not, their live vocals are better than their recorded vocals. They debuted in 2008 when Taemin, as the main dancer, was just 14. He's now 27 and heading into the military on 5/31 to fulfill his mandatory duty. The others have already completed their military tours because they are older.
They are also known as the trendsetters of Kpop. SHINee started the dance practice trend, they introduced new funky fashion trends -- like "skinny jeans", annual SM Halloween parties, and most importantly, they were the first group to introduce more complex choreos while singing live during performances. This is documented by IU when she stated during her show, "IU's Palette" with SHINee as guests that, "When we [meaning she and other 1st gen Kpop groups] heard that SHINee was having a dry-run rehearsal, we all gathered to watch because we couldn't believe you would sing live while doing such dancing" (paraphrasing). Because of this alone, SHINee was instrumental in advancing Kpop to what you see today with 3rd & 4th gen groups.
SHINee, especially Taemin with his solo work, are known for their experimental music. They slide effortlessly into any genre of music (Onew even performed Opera on a whim during one concert), even blending genres and creating their own. Taemin is most famous for this. For instance, this song is a blend of classical with Hip-Hop. We call his experimental songs T-Pop (Taemin Pop).
"Advice" is the epilogue of Taemin's last 2-part, full-length album, "Never Gonna Dance Again" (NGDA) released this past fall. The two prior title songs are "Criminal" of Act 1 with the concept being Stockholm Syndrome, and "IDEA" of Act 2 with the concept of Plato's Theory of Forms which dovetails with Stockholm syndrome. Taemin is deep and very intellectual, so you always have to remember that his songs/MVs usually have at least two meanings: the surface reading of the lyrics and the deeper, underlying message. "Advice" actually has three components: 1) surface reading; 2) the epilogue of NGDA where we see his newly emerged ego after an epic battle of the two egos in his mind battling beginning in "Criminal" with the climactic ending in "IDEA"; 3) This is also part of the overall SM Universe Theory storyline which encompasses many or all of SM's idol groups and soloists and began in 2012. (I believe it started with SHINee's 2012 concert opening VCR.)
It would be great if you could react to Taemin's "Criminal" & "IDEA", which are very different in sound, but linked together.

Regarding the car crash scene, he confirmed with Minho during their reaction that it was real and even though he didn’t get seriously hurt (glass was CGI) he was still nervous about it; you can check out their reaction on your own time to get more details about it. *The more I analysis the MV, my thoughts I think when he got into the car accident he died and now he is between life & death or good & evil (hence the black & white suits); which gets me thinking that its continuum of 'IDEA' because the concept is similar, Angel vs Demon but with a chess board and the back up dancers as his guards while he plays the roles of king and queen.* It has been 13 years now for majority of us Shawols / Taemints and we are so proud of him. I still get lost for words every time, this is definitely his way of moving into the next chapter of his career and life 😶👀🙀🤯 He went all out for his new album bringing some classic piano with hiphop vibes along with a dark concept Lol displaying his full-on Vampire OG Prince legendary status for the creative genius that he is experimenting with new concepts and tempos along with the beat similar to SHINee’s “Don’t Call Me” and don’t get me started with the killer choreography, fashion, visuals and background settings. He hopes that it comforts his fans but also he is calling out all the haters/ANTIs, SASAENGS and corrupt media. There’s so much going on connecting all his previous MVs together in this one video; showing his completed storyline 😭 comforting on top of killing his fans before he has to enlist on May 31st, but I know deep down he deserves a sort of break so he can refresh himself for his return.
