I love how she deeply think and calculates about the circumstances if she suddenly change a content, but no matter what content she'll make I'm sure she can capture the hearts of many people because of her sheer determination and willingness.

A wise weather man once said you can reasonably expect about five years (give or take) of relevancy as a streamer/content creator before you start to lose steam. Assuming you don’t change anything up in that time, even a fairly popular streamer will eventually drop off and start hemorrhaging views.
Which seems like a no-brainer in retrospect, but the fact she’s both aware of the need to keep things fresh, and willing to actively branch out from the norm to do so, shows a genuine level of savviness on her part. More than a few streamers have ignored the need to innovate to their detriment over the years.
I wouldn't be sure about deep calculations as Haachama is more of an improv kind of girl.

She’s prolly one of the most thoughtful girls in Hololive as far as I observed. Miko and Haachama surprisingly has a lot in common when it comes to caring and supporting the other girls in their own quirky way and it just added to their strength as idols imo.
What I personally find so interesting about Haato/Haachama is how she managed to incorporate an entire lore and storyline into and surrounding her streams. Something I don't think has really ever been done since. Reading her vtuber wiki is like reading the synopsis to an actual anime series.
Almost every other vtuber had a 'lore' but then doesn't really do anything with it after. Akai Haato on the other hand has had multiple character arcs.
The best part is that her character has nothing to do with her "intended" lore of being nothing more than a tsundere schoolgirl. Her struggles with her alternate personality which may or may not be her subconscious trying to recreate her dead sister are entirely her own invention.
So unlike other vtubers who have lore and don't use it, Haachama had no lore so she damn well *made some*

HAACHAMA has reached milestone after milestone even if it isn't YAGOO's expected seiso route. Her, along with Coco broke the internet and I'm grateful for it as a listener back in 2020 until this day.

That's true. They brought in so many overseas viewers with their viral clips.
Personally, I think that having the "Pure Idol" part is already well covered by Sora. There aren't enough hours in a day for anyone to watch everyone in Hololive all the time, so I think that Haachama had the best idea, everyone should try to target different fan demographics. If Hololive were to have just 50 copies of Sora it would have failed, or it would have been successful just not as successful as it is now.

They ended up taking a similar route to, of all things, AKB48. When it was made, they went after all the girls who failed out of more popular idol group auditions because they weren't "idol enough", firstly to train and mentor them, but secondly to lean into and exploit their differences as unique selling points. AKB is just Idols for the sake of Idols now but in the early days they excelled off of having many different faces, acts, personalities, and Characters so much so that when they finally did get an idol-like girl she was lampooned for it.

Coco never did GFE and she was a smash hit. Kson DOES do GFE and she's a big downgrade from Coco thus not as successful. Pekora also never does GFE and she's doing extremely well too.
I would say there's several "Seiso" like talents in Hololive and...they're not exactly pulling huge numbers. I like to think Haato picked Haachama for various reasons, but I'm sure one of them was an ease of transition from tsundere seiso like to chaotic without it looking like Haato was selling out to chase another popularity idea.
Regardlses, we all know whether it be Haachama or Haato, deep down, the person playing her is quite a sweetheart so I'm just hoping she's having a lot of fun.
It kinda sucks to pin that on Sora tho. You can tell she gets pretty exhausted with that expectation of her.
I've always seen Haachama as savvy businesswoman. She was always keeping things fresh. It's interesting how she is Coco's oshi, which is another woman who also had that same vision.

Haato is an author using herself as a character. I noticed this when she was talking to a superchatter who asked her about the #freehaato events. Her response started with, 'oh, the horror arc?'

I feel like Yagoo is savy enough to realize that his Yagoo persona has somehow become a key part of Hololive’s success and thus makes sure his interactions with the talents is of him being happy go lucky.
But in the 5 year anniversary retrospective, he mentioned how much he pushed the team to make sure certain deadlines were hit. He seems to be a very stern leader to the regular staff members, but those times he pushed the team were very pivotal points in Hololive history.
As a 43-48 year old Owner of a Business, he is very well in the age average of SUCCESFUL BUSINESS OWNERS in Japan's statistics, he has the experience and visibly so the necessary skills to know when to focus and have staff focus. Tbh Yagoo is one of very few Company Owners that you can truly praise for how he manages his Business.
It really depends on what kind of audience she wants. Both styles can work, which she's proven. Going more towards the seiso idol side is going to appeal more to her native audience again, while the entertainment side appeals more to the overseas audience. Really what's important is that she enjoys and feels good about what she's doing. She'll be successful either way with her talent.
Haachama deserves a lot of credit for the popularity of Hololive, she would've definitely grown a lot more if wasn't for the West Taiwan incident.

Wouldn't exactly call myself a haaton but Haato was the reason i got pulled back into vtubers rabbit hole and into hololive specifically, still occasionally watching her streams when i have the time. Sure, most people see her as that girl posting weird shitposts/cooking/rap videos but she is incredibly talented and contributed a lot towards getting hololive to where it is now. Oh, also red heart slaps. Looking forward to witnessing what kind of wild shenanigans she'll pull in the future.
Haachama.. there is no way Yagoo will get angry at you. That CEO even expressed his sadness when Kaichou came to his office and said that she wanted to graduate.
Also Haachama is very smart. It is pure coincidence that HoloPro found the perfect formula to get popularity. At first, they aimed to be "seiso" but Niji is more popular because of the vast number of entertaining talents they had. Then in just pure lucky moment, HoloPro got some talents that dare to break the seiso barrier but still kept their "idol" status whenever they sing. HoloPro finally arrived at the right balance of being entertainer but still keep the wildness under control. Remember that Haachama is one of the reason on why Kaichou applied for Hololive.
Haachama puts out such an amazing range and variety of content, and almost all of it is hilarious, adorable, or genius

Apparently she wants to get rid of the lewd stuff and the weird cooking. The cooking is great for notoriety but doesn't make for good long term content. The lewd stuff, again only works to a degree and it does poorly unless you specifically target that one specific demographic and there's too many lewd girls throughout the genertions.

With all the things that Cover Corp keeps pushing out and having a bussiness that relies on UA-cam which has shown to be very unstable, its safe to say that a strong and serious personality is needed to guide the team in such stormy seas.
This made me respect Haachama even more than before. While I might be a bit late entering the rabbit hole, having learnt bit by bit of Hololive lore everyday, and especially Haachama's, I could have never imagined such ingenuity with the direction she took.
with regards to the merch pic, I think that's just yagoo being wary since its a body pillow, iirc I think there was a clip where A-chan or some other hololive member pointed out that yagoo was careful in holding body pillows to avoid aggravating the fans of said holo.

To be honest, I view Haato and Haachama like a symbol for Yin and Yang. Absolute Good and Absolute Evil as one entity. Both are her, and she is whom we all enjoy. As long as she is enjoying herself, and allow us viewers to enjoy time watching her, I think we can all support her in whatever role she decides to take on.

I think one of the key things about HL is that it maintains the idol aspect specifically because they’re almost subversive in that space. It’s what makes them more than usual VTubers, but also far more approachable for people that aren’t into idol culture.

I believe Haachama is one of the reasons why the idol-thing works so well these days. Back then, Hololive's chances to create idol-like content was not that often since there's only one concert a year and most concerts are birthday/anniversary live so with a smaller group, it's quite rare compared to today where you would actually have a hard time to stay updated with the concerts of every holomem.
She basically took the halm for the craziness of Hololive and made it seem concentrated to a few of the talents thereby increasing the idolness of the other members due to comparison which would also increase the effect of her craziness in return. She had the balls to go deep into craziness that everyone was so immersed and invested into it. (btw. I got into the rabbit hole during this time so I still have ptsd to discord ringtone) With her taking the chaos by the horns, all kinds of viewers were pulled into hololive and people who got exposed to her chaos would then be attracted to a detox with the other members which was big brain. She also then pursued the peak of the chaos to the point that I have not yet seen anyone perform on the same level of craziness and chaos as she did during the haachamaxhaato arc that she mostly did on a livestream and not just on a video with all the edits. She did all of them live with the limited tools that she could do in a livestream. All I can say during that era is that even if they were not pleasant memories those are core memories for the people who were able to witness it.
Sadly, it is true that because people were so invested in the haatoxhaachama arc, there been quite a huge fallout after she decided to steer to the other way for her content. I am not a haato but since the first thing I witnessed about her is the haatoxhaachama arc and was not able to witness the haato's sweet and cute era, I'm still having a hard time to balance her image of being crazy in my memories and the current sweet but naughty/playful child identity of hers. (plus her laugh also gives me ptsd because i've seen some stuff live while hearing that laugh)

Being a pure idol needn't be an "act," but rather something you try to be, even if most people could never actually achieve it. It is an ideal, and ideals have their place

I said it before, but Haachama is a natural genius at content creation. Her imagination and creativity are virtually boundless.
Regarding the Yagoo part, I think Haachama might overthinking it a bit, which is common for someone her age, but I doubt that Yagoo didnt like the direction which she took. After all, she did gain a lot of followers and ultimately making money.
my opinion on pure idol is i like the concept and im glad more people especialy westerners are getting in to it but pure idol fans can get really toxic which deterred me from ever getting in to idols until now so im grateful that haachama decided to change the formula which grately made idol culture for vtubers at lease much more open minded and friendly

Gotta respect Haachama for Adapting base on the Times despite the consequence of losing your core audience, it's true that Nijisanji model works during early Days of Live2d Vtubers thanks to Thier Talents being the one popularized it, the business Model still works even now in the Japanese Normie sphere, however the Hardcore Vtuber Fanbase over there and a Large part of Overseas now seeks more Idol like presence thanks to Hololive
She evolved from "playing" a character to "become" a character itself
back then during the Kizuna Ai and Mirai Akari days, most Vtubers where trying to be cutesy Idol girls and the unrestrained "entertainers" where fewer, nowadays I feel the Vtubing community is just FKING OVERSATURATED with crazy, chaotic vtubers, it's getting tiring really...
hololive is still quite idol like, even if they now are slightly different, all of their talents can at least somewhat do things idols should be able to do at a decently satisfactory level. However there are a lot of people capitalizing off the mainstream growth vtubers has gotten just to attract viewers with no intention at all of actually participating in the "idol culture", but i don't actually think it's bad there's a reason they're popular and it gives us more of a reason to appreciate the more idol like vtubers.

She's doing what she thought was best and that's good. It also helps that she's good at her current style.
On another note, I definitely think there's place for the whole idol thing. I'm not an idol fan exactly but I 100% see the appeal. Some of my biggest highs as a fan of anything is being there for the big idol moments from Sora, Miya Kimino, and Kizuna Ai. I think what really makes or breaks the character is if the idol themselves is passionate about it. If it's an act rather than an ideal or dream, it's bound to bite you in the butt. Especially with the culture around idols.
I'm not going to assume I know what goes on in the mind of Yagoo as a person (hell, if you want to get real ominous for a moment: one of the single most recurring traits across CEOs and major leaders in any industy is them being somewhat of a sociopath), but, as someone who has learnt several times over the years that employees under me have asked a similar question "does he dislike me for this or that?", the answer is most probably no, he doesn't dislike you.
Yagoo, from everything I've seen of him, has the sense to see he knows far less about the trend of VTubing, and online content creation, compared to the talents he hires. That's why Hololive hires them. They hire people they feel can (or in Haachama's case - given her initial age - eventually can) carry the company in a way some middle-aged CEO simply cannot. Yagoo, like any good leader, sees what he can do with his skill-set, and sees where he and his team are lacking in others, and hires as such.
There'll be many instances where staff step in, moreso for legal security (the copyright fiasco being the biggest case of this), but he wanted talents that could take this company forwards, and Haachama has been at the forefront of that endeavour several times over the years. Will he have been personally vibing with Haachama's very over-the-top comedic horror ARG arc? Probably not. Will he have been happy she's pushing Hololive forwards as creatively as possible? Hell yes.

without Haato giving birth to the Haachama persona when Hololive was small, we wouldnt have Coco who eventually paved way to HoloEN as well as FBK and many others for doing comedic content. She did her part and contributed to Hololive's popularity, it's possible Yagoo learned something from her during those times and now, he is loosening up a bit and interacting more with the members
She was right, the times are changing again since Hololive is now more popular than ever garnering a huge audience now and the preference is now reverting back to the idol persona since the VTuber genre is already oversaturated with comedy, sassiness, YABE content and shitposting. Now that i think about it, her being demonitized might be a strategic move to strech the boundaries of what can and could be. It worked perfectly well pushing more fans to be curious about hololive and providing the members the line on where to step on.

Well, for better or worse, Hololive now is such a huge force of power that you do not really need to push yourself to create SHOCKING contents. In alot of ways, their content is now trending toward more and more mainstream media that everyone can watch. They're still allowed to do it if they want to, like Marine's latest MV, but they can now be abit more relaxed
Also, I think other members have said it before but all of them do think that "Well, HAACHAMA is a phase....", others played along but Matsuri steadfastly refused to say Haachama. I do think that HAACHAMA really tried playing the shock factor way too hard, to the point that some of her breaks are because she cannot think of anything shocking, just like when she first did HAACHAMA LORE. In a way, its good that she can come to terms that she cannot always do shocking things, and she does not need to

not sure if the shift happened before or after Miko GTA streams, but it as definitely the right direction. NJSJ were getting a lot of traction, especially with their male streamers who went the entertainer route.
This was true too for twitch, baring the ASMR/ lewd streams on twitch. IMO it was much better cause u dont get that many of those toxic idol chaser kinds (idols must be pure, etc etc). And it paved the way for overseas army to come in and enjoy as well.
