Good list but I think it's better to do it by era like 60s, 70s,80s 90s etc. Johnny Ringo, Lone Ranger, Nicodemus, Early B, Papa Ritchie, Brigadier Jerry, Josey Wales, Peter Metro, Charlie Chaplin, Ranking Joe, U Brown were all great 80s Deejay to name a few.
My personal favourites to this list would be Eek-A-Mouse, General Trees, Early B, Uglyman, Nicodemus, Pampidoo and the mighty Cutty Ranks. Great list though!
@@krisztiancsete6306 don't know if this is true but a lot of people say that the mouse is a batty boy and dresses up in women's clothing. I'm hoping it is not true if so I would have to put his CDs in the bin..
Shouldn't the title be "MY TOP 10 GREATEST DANCE HALL ARTIST? Because everyone's list will be different depending on the era you listened to the genre.
Great list my man- good to see king yellowman and Daddy Uroy get their props- i know its hard to pick favourites but you done did a good job- Bless Rasta.

Bless up yourself for always promoting our culture. Each to his/her own, I just cant see a top 10 without General Trees, Shabba Ranks, Bounty Killa and Beenie Man. That's just my personal opinion.
Respect but you may need a top 20 list, where's Terror, Beenie, Bounty, Merciless, Charlie Chaplin, Darts Man, Chaka Demus, Nicodemus, Terry Ganzie, Buccaneer, Pan head, Cobra, Cutty Ranks, Frisco Kid...scratch that, you need at least top 30 😅, or at least feature these artists as i would love to know their bio since you seem to do thorough research on artists, Jah bless
U had a hard task to complete. U leave out bounty and beenie but ur list is very tuff still. Maybe top 20 but at 10 u had a herculean task because everyone u listed should be on dat list. Luv ur programming and keep up the good work. What make ur videos more impressive is dat ur not a jamaican but u know ur ting. Big up urself blogger!
# 1 is on point , all others are worthy however Demus, the Doctor, Brigadier, and a host of others it should be based on popularity hence they should be VOTED on, bless.
Ha ha. If the Great U-Roy had a great challenger, it was undoubtedly another Great....I -Roy..!!!! Let's look at others too: (Not mentioned) Dillinger, Tappa Zukie, U-Brown, Trinity, Clint Eastwood, Prince Jazzbo (of late), Al Capone, Brigadier Jerry, Josey Wales
I don't really agree. It would have been better to make a top 10 by decades because each of them do not belong to the same era. For example, Cutty Ranks was there way before Buju. Plus, dancehall artists do not limit itself to Bounty & Beenie. You also have Terror Fabulous, Merciless, Mad Cobra, Terry Ganzie, Mega Banton, Simpleton, Galaxy P, Jigsy King and many more.
Impressive list, but I would also include Shaggy as he was another popular Dancehall artist besides Shabba and Supercat. Bennie Man would be up there too.
U Roy could be the forerunner creator of the genre, but my No 1 could only be the one and only King Yellowman and No.2 Shaba Ranks. Both artists immensely contributed, in giving the genre a massive global appeal and following .
I say do a top 20 or do some honorable mentions. Lone Ranger,Professor Nuts, Mad Cobra, Capleton Chaka Demus all these names deserve a spot up there but you only said top 10.
General Echo was probably the most influential. He even inspire Yellow man. Every artist that ever did a slack song, you can easily tell where the inspiration came from. Even the current generation of dancehall artist you can hear the slackness in the music.
No Prince Far I. My personal favorites are I Roy, Big Youth, Prince Far I, Yellowman, Buju, Sizzla. But love too many others to mention. The first dancehall/rap crossover was Yellowman and Run DMC on Run DMC’s second album.
I like Pato Banton.. the Live And Kickin All Over America album is one of the greatest albums of all time across all genre's... _Life is a struggle but we never give in..._ Amen !
You leave out the great Stitchie but for me King Yellowman is the greatest of all one King who paved the way for the rest and showed them how to make money out of their talent
The word dance hall was not used until 1986, they were toasters. That's U Roy,I Roy,Big Youth,Dillinger. Dance Hall is a different error of reggae music.

I'm disappointed that the Mellow Canary did not make the list.
