Nice video! Actually found you from the NTH-100 vid. I hope you dont mind me asking: Do you know if Rode made any attempt to fix the weak link issue since that vid, with a stronger part? Warm regards.
Hi Morgan. I appreciate it. I'm about to do a longer followup video for the headphones. They sent me a replacement last year, and the replacement pair is now breaking in the exact same place. I want to contact Rode before I make a long form video about it. I believe there is a new model out, but I don't know yet if it's fixed that issue.
@CSGPhotos Thank you. You're not alone, apparently. It sounds a lot like they haven't made an attempt to fix the "known issue" in all this time, and instead exhaust existing stock as replacements as the longer term solution that works best for them. (with the audacity to slap a new "lifetime warranty" sticker on it) That warranty is like bogus quality assurance marketing that doubles up as a licence to continue selling subpar, structurally compromised units. Sorry you've been affected. I own Rode products, and I expect quality. I'd buy these headphones if they would have just addressed the weakest link in a timely fashion because they seem otherwise great. I'm glad I've done the research tonight. Fyi: I happened across a video tonight of some guy on YT who has designed and made the part out of a stronger, thicker material. CodeMakesItGo is his channel. I'd almost rather take that solution than keep dealing with endless complete unit replacements that are destined to fail. But yes, I think Rode should let NTH-100 customers know what their plan is to rectify the situation. I prefer not to be a litigious person so it frustrates me when more and more companies are almost deliberately not pro-active about making things right. On a more positive note, I'll look forward to your update vid, TY 😊
@morgan8937 I agree. I own quite a bit of Rode gear and they've always been fantastic and reliable. The headphones are my favorite pair for studio work. They're comfortable and have a great tone.
This was the best camping trip we've had yet! Do you have any recommendations on where we should go next?
