The Supreme Court on Friday invalidated a federal rule enacted during the Trump administration that outlawed bump stocks, devices that greatly increase the rate of fire of semi-automatic weapons.
The 6-3 ruling found that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives exceeded its authority when it issued the ban in 2018, following the 2017 mass shooting at a music festival in Las Vegas, the deadliest in U.S. history. Justice Clarence Thomas delivered the opinion of the court, which split along ideological lines. Justice Sonia Sotomayor read her dissenting opinion from the bench.

You dont need a bumpstock to bump fire. Bumping is using the recoil to pull the trigger faster. For a gun to be machine gun it has to fire automatically with a single pull. Also, No gun can fire 800 plus rounds like that. No magazine is that big and even if they could the guns would break apart. Only actual machine guns are built to withstand the heat and pressure of hundreds of rounds without failure. Opening the border and legalizing crime also doesnt help anyone go against the 2nd amendment. Does the opposite.

Not true, the M249 has a switch for normal at 750rpm, or maximum at 1000rpm.

Good thinking! How can a device that AU-TO-MAT-IC-AL-LY pulls a trigger be deemed a MACHINE gun?
Read the decision and find out. A person using a bump stock pulls the trigger once for every shot, same as if they were bump-firing without a bump stock.

Why, because they did their job as outlined in the constitution?
Remember the courts don’t get to decide on what’s best for the country, that’s Congress. They only get to decide whether the law complies with the constitution and was properly implemented. In this case, it was clearly not properly implemented. That could be fixed tomorrow if Congress amended the law to include bump stocks.
They don't need your respect when they are Constitutionally guaranteed to exist.
So you don't want the SCOTUS to make Government act withing the parameters of the Constitution?
This case was against the ATF for illegally making, and trying to enforce new laws, the ATF doesn't have that power.

If someone crazy shoot at you are your family what will be your reaction then.as long as a law does not effect you it is okay even though it is not the gun that is pulling the treaker it is the individual that is handling the gun,if he did not have the gun he would not be able to use it.
