This is amazing but,how do you train / teach a dog such an abstract concept with words like , now , soon , today , yesterday , tommorrow and love you, mad ?? I really wonder. It’s hard for me to believe they truly know the meaning of the words I listed. They might understand bare raw concept itself, but putting a sound to a concept adds another layer of complexity to their skills in understanding/communication. What I mean is ( very very loose example), I might understand what the color red is, however, if you told me to explain what red is to a blind person, that takes another set of skills altogether. Or if I didn't know what red is called, and someone tried to teach me how to VERBALLY & AUDIBLY how the word " RED" sounds, that's a very very difficult process I think for a dog to learn.
@@beckyestes5339 If they truly understand it, more props for them and their owners. It's almost like teaching them monday, tues etc. that's very very difficult to convey.
Stella (@hungerforwords) also has found creative ways to use language. When her button for Beach broke, she said "help water outside". Billi the cat (Billi Speaks) also got creative. She wanted to play with her catnip toy that is shaped like a beaver, but she didn't have a word for Beaver. She did have a word for her favorite stuffed toy, which is a stuffed bunny, so she called the beaver "catnip bunny". A question on the Wyze cam setup: you have it on continuous record, but how do you personally collect the footage? Have the updates ever destroyed your SD cards?
On them developing a "new type of communication", I would assume one of the big problems extrapolating from these studies is that bond between her and Bunny. If the language use only emerges in relation to their dynamic it might prove difficult to draw results relating to the world at large.
@@PattPlays For sure. Most everyone trying this with their pets talks about how important it is to have that bond in place outside of the words, and to be able to understand your pet's body language and meows and so on decently well before training the buttons.
Sign languages focus on the most important parts first, so you got a point. They have to boiling it down to the important words to make it easier to understand for the dog and less risk of confusion for both of them, I guess? And when they know it’s treat time (because they can tell time lol) they get so hyper. when they want a walk we just know because of the way they’re acting. Normally dogs have to communicate with us in non verbal ways. So I was just wondering if the buttons have taken that place.

4:14 “all done beach. We’ll go beach tomorrow”
Bunny: *stares
Holy shit. This dog just ARGUED. AND WON.
Blown away by every video. Bunny is incredible and you’re an incredible mom!
Do you think the cats have picked up on any of the language by observing Bunny?
Maybe like outside but I don’t think that they’re so interested in the buttons hahah
@@untamed_seal have watch at a cat named Billy who is also learning those buttons. It is quite entertaining too. If for Bunny most important thing is to go walk, than for Billy the Cat it is ''food'' and ''mad'' (the channel called BillySpeaks)
@@kongke77 found this channel through recommended after watching Billy, both are really great content 🥰
You might like Billi Speaks! It's a channel with a cat who uses the buttons. Her communication is much more simple than Bunny's (but Billi did learn the buttons at an older age, not as a baby like Bunny and Stella).
@@kongke77 I'm watching Billi too. It's kinda interesting that i find cat and dog perspectives are different. Billi is more focus on simple demand base on her emotion and her need for satisfaction. While Bunny is more focus on more complicate demand base on her curiosity. And Bunny is so smart that she can understands the concept of basic questions "What-When-Where-Why-How" and time too. I wonder if Bunny could understand the concept of reflection and could she teach her puppy to understand buttons too when she gave birth.
This could be a revolution of how we communicate with pet and animal in the future. 10 years from now these Button-com might be a must in every pet owner's house. And from animal's side they might develop a new communication too.
I'm convinced this dog is asking questions. There's a lot of intent behind those decisive button presses.
4:12 bunny says "all done" and lie down. Idk why it makes me laugh 🤣
when Bunny laid down and "settled" i Awwwed out loud because it cute and somewhat sad. she is so adorable.
SOO CUTE! I Love her markings looks like she's wearing a "jumpsuit" with a little round hat! She's so cute and amazing! I love her!
"Please"
MY HEART! 😭
My favorite is back leg tiny tantrum it's the best, very consistent Lolo defiance 💗
5:14 watching the cat's tail switching back and forth in the mirror as Bunny tries to insist on going to the park SOON!
you can almost see there brains expanding as they get a way to communicate
She's a good Dawg. Like a little kid, seeing how far they can push. 💙
I love the cat’s tail switching in the mirror!
If my dog asked me to "please" take them for a walk, I would give in too.
This is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. I don’t have a dog, but I enjoy watching these videos.
She is truly a beach bunny. When she says please I would give her anything
The wheels are turning in dat shaggy head as you tell her no. If she could yell she would 😂😂😂💯💯💯
One good thing about the talking board is that Bunny doesn’t bark as much.
She doesn’t bark much but I’ll bet she “talks” a lot.
Bunny needs a button next to “beach” that says “I’m not done yet”!😂😂😂
5:05 felt trippy seeing bunny standing there, but seeing a cat in the reflection 😆
"please water walk" HOLY CRAP THAT IS SO INTELLIGENT
What I like is that Bunny doesn't become overexcited when you say walk.
That's bcz she isn't a full on STD Poodle..
There is mayhem at the door, running in tight circles. He's even got the lil ChiWeinie turning tight circles, too🙄.
Well you have to put on some shoes now. She was polite and said please. 😂
Yes.
The pet has become the master.
The cycle is complete.
She is AMAZINGLY intelligent! She politely asks for what she wants, gets a no, and politely asks for what she wants again! 💜 She's just precious. I'm already looking for a puppy for my fat dog, and I have decided to get a Bunny! 🧡🐇🧡🐇
When Bunny stares at you it's like "You keep on using those words. I do not think they mean what you think they mean" 🤣
Its my understanding that temporal comprehension is very high order cognitive concept so its amazing Bunny understands notions like yesterday, tomorrow and now.
She is so adorable! I wish I would have known about these when I had my poodles. They were so smart. I had poodles for over 30 years, and I miss them so much.
I love that she just stands there and stares. Like “mom, I want my way and I want it now!” I have a 5 yr old, very stubborn lab lol. Sometimes I wish she could talk, but the more I watch Bunny I’m like ehhhh, be grateful she can’t get too sassy with you lol! Plus, I’d be in trouble since I can’t say no to her 😂 I’m sure you have a hard time with that also! Do you notice that her nonverbal actions aren’t as present since she has another way of talking? One of our labs with just plop down and roll over if she wants belly rubs. She’s our pup that does talk a lot which I love! I love her puppy voice. And when they know it’s treat time (because they can tell time lol) they get so hyper. when they want a walk we just know because of the way they’re acting. Normally dogs have to communicate with us in non verbal ways. So I was just wondering if the buttons have taken that place.
Bunny is breaking my heart with the walk please. Dogs r smarter than humans ever thought. They can reason. Express feelings and love
I for one am grateful I am a grown ass 54 year old human. 😊 Unlike some creatures this experiment has me talking to, evidently.
