I have a 2012 ZX14R Got the one and a quarter inch risers. I could hardly believe that small change made a huge difference in comfort. I lowered the back a couple inches too. Makes it easier to stand both feet now. I love this bike.
Thanks for the vid, I thought I would have to do a lot of other mods if I put them on. Now that I'm 60 my neck kills after an hour in the saddle, these might be the answer. I have a 2012 ZX14R which I love. It's the longest I've had any bike 8 years now. Cheers from Australia.
When I first bought mine, I installed these same risers for the same reason with the same results as you found. After about 3 yrs, I installed a set of lowering links and dropped the rear about 1-3/4". I quickly found the risers were no longer needed and took them back off. It was a definitely a pleasant surprise :)
I got 1 1/4" which is as far as you can go without hitting the fairing or running into cable or hose length problems. I cut the centering lug off, so I could raise the forks in the clamps, as I like the low look. Plus, I have a steering damper on so, I needed different (longer) bolts for that side. I do like how it cruises like this, for sure.
I might get a set. One thing for sure that will get changed out is the oem seat. For me that seat is crazy painful and my 10r seat was way more comfortable. Before I order this corbin seat, I'll see if there is somebody in my area that could do something with what I have now and make it way better. If not, I'll order that corbin and toss this oem seat out.
Hay man Just a little update on my 2018 ZX14R getting ready to put some Voodoo exhaust slip-ons and a double bubble wind screen. I will be posting it on my channel #torah57mitch.
You have one awesome bike love that color combination man it looks good- but my question is why is the BBQ not fired up? time for some of my hot wings and a beer after looking at your bike -
@@ColonelCampbellAI2024 When you have a passenger, you are supporting their weight, and it's hard on your wrists. So that's why I said I can imagine the risers will feel better on your wrists when you have a passenger on the back, because you're supporting less of their weight because you're sitting more upright.
@@ColonelCampbellAI2024 If you're on a sports bike, I don't care who you are, you're going to have to support that person's weight at some point. Trust me, you'll more tired with a passenger than you would be solo.
I have just installed some on my Gen 1 14. I cant get the blanking plates in? I notice yours are on the top & sticking out? If you was to take them back off and place the cap/cover on top of the riser before you put the bars back on it would sit flush inside the bars. Mine is about 1mm too wide so can't get in top or bottom. Did yours drop straight in or did you struggle? Good video.
I have the caps up like that because I liked the way they look, I could push them down flush or father if I wanted to. Oh, they slid straight in, no struggle.
I got them off Amazon. It's been awhile but they are exactly like these >> TARAZON 1" Lift Handlebar Risers Adapter Handle Bar for Kawasaki Ninja ZX14R ZX-14R ZZR1400 2006-2018 www.amazon.com/dp/B07PK29VBS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_148B6HQXRRGPTFWBKCCZ
I’m thinking about buying a 2021 Kawasaki ZX 14R for some sports touring , mostly touring clocking up 500 to 700 miles in a day . At 5 foot 7 inch I’m a bit on the short side . Just wondering how tall are you ? I ask you this so that I get an idea if 1inch to 11/4 inch risers will make it comfortable for someone of my height on day long rides . Cheers 🍻 🍻
I'm 5' 7" and have a 2016 zx14 with 1 inch risers. Yes, thay make a big difference. However, when on the highway, trying to tuck in becomes an issue. But when riding within the city they work great
I'm considering higher risers than my present 3/4 inch Heli bars on my 14r. I might go higher than your 1 inch risers (1.25inch) Ifyou turn your bars to full left (as to lock the bike) how close are the throttle cables from rubbing under the fairing? J.
@@markurbancowboy I suppose I could bend the master cylinder down a bit. How is the cable clearance to the fairing with your setup at the full left turn position? J
@@jscottc6675 I supppse you might be able to do that, I don't know. I can't answer the cable question as I no longer own the bike, traded it two months ago (but the clearance was good with my set-up). I went back to a HD cruiser just to slow it down some. Lol, was going to get hurt or in to much trouble. 😊
You can fit heli bars. You then would sit upright. I fitted heli risers for an 1and quarter inch rise. A double bubble screen .then lowered the seat. Can sit upright at 160 to 180kmh. The stock position is only comfortable at 250 plus. For a real really fast sports tourer it probably should have almost normal bars and a bigger screen .
At 5'11", would these be a good investment? I ride a ZX-11 at the moment and I'm picking up a ZX-14 tomorrow. On the ZX-11, I definitely need them. Just wondering if, for my height, the ZX-14r will be the same.
I'm 5'10" and they are perfect for me, you don't lean over as much and it is a lot more comfortable. The risers don't cost much and install takes about 15 minutes so you're not out a bunch of money and time if you don't like them.👍

I did the same on mine, but drove the caps down flush. I'll likely regret that if I ever adjust the front end.
Hows te windprotection with the risers? Do you have more wind on your head and body or does the shield provide enough protection?
The wind feels the same as it did stock; just a lot less to no pressure on the wrist.
I can imagine it feels even better when you have someone on that back, because man...that's a lot of pressure on your wrists.

Cost you about $40 and 15 minutes to find out. The only difference is you are putting less pressure on the wrist.
Can they rise any higher without affecting the handling too much? I actually need them just a little more for my tortured wrists👍
