      @@alexmiguel351🤯 that absolutely is probably one of the reasons why there’s so much shame and abuse around periods. It’s a fact that you don’t menstrate when you’re stressed and have a low body weight. It’s just a covert way to indirectly force students to lose weight.

      Yeah, that’s where I’d be secretly live streaming and tagging a large news organization and political representatives of the state you are in, along with the dean of students, any board members you can think of, and the teachers/leadership involved in allowing uncontrolled menstrual blood to leak out if a vagina all over shared dance studios after refusing a bathroom break to insert a damn tampon or menstrual cup-five minutes to clean up and change vs however long it takes the poor custodian to clean up a biohazard……..nothing like a little public shaming, forcing school to explain why they are violating basic human rights, women’s rights, and hygiene standards, and discriminating against students whose bodies are doing what they were biologically designed to do, to a relentless media intent on milking a story like that for all it’s worth, dragging any gynecologist willing to share their expert opinions and discuss the public health/sanitation risks involved in allowing others to dance in human uterine tissue, mucous, and blood; lawmakers or lawyers to go over the list of labor violations, student rights violations, public health violations; mental health professionals to discuss the extreme mental duress and trauma that can cause to young girls athletes and dancers still forced to train in toxic, unhealthy training environments after all the scandals (particularly USA Gymnastics Larry Nasser scandal that led to the USA Gymnastics Karolyi scandal with their abusive training methods-overtraining, forcing young girls to train with injuries, restricting access to healthy food that fuels bodies in high impact, extreme sports, period shaming and even pushing for girls to engage in practices meant to disrupt and eliminate menstruating all together)…..and the moment they attempt to retaliate in any way, they’d find themselves in a massive legal sh!t storm and public calls to oust current leadership, instructors and board members who allowed that to happen, because if that happened with you, it’s happened to others, and likely worse! Now is the time for public accountability and for these systemic changes to be forced! Remaining silent and complacent allows this type of behavior to continue unchecked, and not every young dancer that is subjected to that will be able to endure it unaffected. This type of abuse leads to a loss of love for the craft, and it hurts the industry as a whole! Hold their feet to the fire! I’d also ask the female instructor when the last time she was forced to bleed from her Vagina and refused access to a bathroom and a necessary break, and how comfortable she would be once period waste ran down her legs into her point shoes, or how comfortable she would be forced to dance in someone else’s period blood?! That this video resulted in multiple shared stories of solidarity from others exposed to this type of abuse just pisses me off! This is why athletes/dancers in industries like this need to have access to liaisons and legal representation intended to protect the rights, health and safety of the athletes/dancers and preventing systemic abuses from going unchecked!

      @vianeyboruel504 I didn't actually pass out, but was fighting not to. I've only experienced this with periods maybe twice, idr the other time aside from it being a vaguely similar scenario of pretty much trying to hold it in. The pain was no more than typical periods. I also have occasional hypoglycemia and pretty bad GAD. It's highly likely that those and embarrassment/frustration (or even muscle fatigue from trying to hold a kegal for hours) alone were the issue since in 18 years of menstruation this type of scenario is the only time I've nearly passed out relating to my period. The passing out struggle went away as soon as I was able to stop holding a d@mn kegal for hours on end.

      @Anna-xu5jc 23 дні тому

      I'd add to the advice above that if you have, for example, a locker at school, then maybe have a clean pair of underpants and trousers (or a skirt or whatever you wear) permanently stashed there. I think, especially during the first years, it's easy to have an accident; all people who get periods that I've talked to about it have all had one at some point (myself included). So if you do happen to get an unfortunate leak (which is fine, as said, happens to us all), having clean clothes to change into eliminates several stressors in an already stressful situation. (Hell, I still tend to have a change of clothes with me when at work.)
      If your school does uniforms and you can't spare an extra one for the locker, then just have some regular clothes there. If an accident happens, change into them, and go to the office/nurse/wherever works for you, explain the situation and ask if they could write a uniform pass for you for the rest of the day, so that you don't have to explain yourself out loud to every teacher in front of the class.

      I think you may already know but Girl code 101: If a girl/woman, whoever it is, needs a pad, you give her a spare. It doesn't matter who she is, could be your enemy, doesn't matter. Also, don't hesitate to ask your girl friends to check if you have a stain. And always let others know if they have one as well.
      But you probably already know that lol.
