I'm part of the fire movement. Reduced work to 2 days per week at 36. I ended up feeling like I had too much time on my hands so chose to increase it 3 days for now. Being able to be in control of these things is incredibly powerful. And remember, it's not about being totally FI, it's being able to slowly increasing your wealth each month, however slow that may be.
Great comment, my intention is after some years to also reduce my days of work to 2 or 3, I was thinking about working 4 days a week right now but I don't think it is still the time.
@@iolss why not? I'm hesitating about the same thing right now and I think's not the time yet... but I guess it's more the fear... I don't know. On the other hand I'd love to try 3 days per week as well... Well I'll guess I'll have to jump to the pool some day...
Even if you save all the money and you can't retire early it just means you have a lot of savings. Even if you hate early retirement you can just go back to work and have a hell of a back up plan
I never realized it but I've lived FI since I was a kid. We operate 3 businesses that use cargo bikes. Debt free and saving over 25% for years. I thought I was the only one. Thank you so much. Almost caught up with the podcast after only 2 weeks! Keep up the great work
Boy oh boy! Do I agree with everything you are saying? Great words, bro. If your FIRE doesn't work, just go back to "normal life" as your neighbor and probably 90% of people are doing.
@@pongop thank you so much. Just reached Lean Fire this month and considering quit so bad, however, will keep going until 2025 to feel more confortable. Thanks for the support.

That's goals! I wouldn't mind work 2.5 days a week, 8 hours tuesday and wednesday and 1/2 day on thursday lol.

"Don't collect stuff, collect skills." Haven't heard that one before but it is very inspirational!
Thank you for sharing this with the world!
brilliantly put, "your worst case scenario is your neighbor"

Of course. Will hit FI in march 2023 I'm very happy.
Hi from a fellow RPh. I'm 42 and hope to be there in 10 years.
...10 long years. ) Living in Cali and having 2 kids...)
Hang in there. I'm 35 and it took me long 10 years to reach FI, regardless of the struggle it was worth it every second of this journey.

I love the idea of developing skills. It is a huge part of becoming self-reliant.
This is so refreshing to watch! And listen to. Thank you for this.
Even if you don’t FIRE you have tons of options. Who would say no to that?!
You had me at "TPS Reports". Great video.
It's a nightmare for me. That's my every day life lol.
