- Check out our highlights from the 2023 Formula Drift Long Beach event, where we finished in the top 8! After a complete revamp of our program, we're just warming up to our new cars and team members. Although I still struggle to harness the car and understand its dynamics, I'm feeling confident in our team's strength and our ability to win in the future. It's interesting hearing at the end about Matt lifting on transitions. Maybe these new decel lights will help catch that more often in the event that a chase driver ends up causing him to crash again this year..
It’s not a decel, it’s just how he points the car.
@@chelseadenofa I think what Chelsea means is that Matt does his transitions off throttle, maybe because he can do transition quicker this way, or maybe because he doesn't feel comfortable transitioning at full throttle. What this means is that when the lead driver (Matt) lets the car coast in drift, while the chase driver is at full throttle behind him it's a recipie for dissaster.
@@fifthgear93 nah everyone has to to come off throttle to transition, especially when they’re going full lock to full lock.
What i think he means is that because the car’s pointing a different way theres a moment of weightlessness in the g meter causing it to show decel.

Did anyone catch when the team was watching the run where Adam is in the lead with Chelsea chasing. You can see Vaughn mouth shit when Adam smacks the tires and then he pulls out his phone. He is probably texting the Ford parts department to send over some more bumpers lol!!
Chelsea watching you drift is like watching an artist at work and I’m positive you probably see this in every single comment section but being able to work for you guys would be my ultimate dream come true no matter what it was it could be the hardest job your team has and it would still be a dream come true

If Adam drove the way he does outside of formula d, at formula d he would actually be worth a damn.
Yea, it’s just not the same in these cars. You could say the same for many others
Adam seems to have trouble with the high hp cars. He can rip in the 5-600hp range, but get in the 2j car or the mustangs and he seems not to be able to get the control down.
I was really hoping with Taylor having a pro-levl car, him and Adam would get more seat time and he'd get better.
12-1300 hp is no joke to be surgical with espically when him and Deane are coming from s(15?) chassis to mustangs. Talk about a night and day difference between cars.

Not personally no.. through a lense e36/46 fox s5/650, went to fd atl and I won't be going to another event unless I'm competing in it.
Obviously I'm not in the cars feeling what's going on but I can't wrap my head around folks not being able to link a course consistently, especially under 50mph. I've clutch kicked a zr1 n powerslid up to 90mph, granted no transition no angle mod but now with cheap mini mantis on a gs I can consistently lay rubber over rubber with transitions over 50mph. I plan on doing an event this season 🤙 You got championship talent and are wild enough to go ham(very entertaining 🙏) but surely you notice your entry speed and transitions aren't consistent.. your transitions seem way more consistent in the e46 🤷♀️ just from a free range slave on the outside looking in.
Does years of drift experience makes a driver much more easier to adjust to a new chassis in drifting? Why I asked because James figured out how to manage the car in certain scenarios in one event. So do the years of drift experience makes a difference?Your opinion would be appreciated 👍
Sometimes learning a car can put you at an advantage, you drive to not expect things. I think james and I both started drifting around the same time, 20 years ago or something like that
