She is stunning! It’s so nice to see a dancer who’s been taught to fully move through and complete each step and phrase. I hate when you’re watching a dancer and you can see they’re thinking of the next part without letting the previous part finish. I hope all goes well for her. She’s lovely.
Mai's a wonderful student with beautiful lines, and Katie, you're such a wonderful encouraging coach who doesn't mess with your student's own artistic style (because she doesn't need it) by only enhancing and encouraging a bit more polish. I just love watching you.🙏💜
This girl is stunning and even little details like fingers are beautiful!! I see the details and live watching your coaching!! Learn so much!! Thank you Kathryn for your channel!! So fun to watch!
Wow! She has great technique, great turn out, great lines, musicality, and that natural performance quality where I could watch her dance for hours. Beautiful dancer/performer 🌟
Wow Mai is amazing! She has incredible energy and I wish her the absolute best. It's so cool to see how you can be fully present as a teacher online too, Katie. Your notes were so kind and yet clear.
Hi Kathryn Morgan! I have a question can you maybe do a video where you explain how in ballet you achieve the allonge look or allongted look with your fingers and how to avoid tension in the hand at barre? I really struggle with this and would really appreciate it.
That’s a great idea! A few things to remember are to breathe, and that your arm movements begin in your back. So proper placement there is key. Another thing to think about is that your fingers and toes are kind of connected. Check to see if you’re holding tension in your feet and toes. Sometimes one affects the other.
I wish I had ballet teachers who actually worked with extension and pauses with me. I learned a lot watching this. At 5'10" I was so lanky, and rail thin I looked so awkward. They just gave up because I didn't have the typical pint size body type. I still dance at 41 and watch my lines more.
MI is oozing with talent. Gorgeous dancer. Great to see KM focusing on details that will add grace n refinement to MI's fluent technique. Enjoyed this video very much. It's a wonderful learning experience, as always.

Kathryn, I say this as someone who taught martial arts for 30 years, "You're a Fantastic Teacher!"
