- Lugger Falcons have always been regarded by many falconers as sub standard compared to other falcons, such as the Peregrine. As a result their mass decline accross their entire wild range of the Indian subcontinent, has gone almost unnoticed by the falconry community.
One of the Projects aims, is to raise the profile of the Lugger Falcon and engage more falconers with the conservation of the species in the wild. Luggers have always been described as simply awful to hood... In this short film presented by the projects founder and chairman Bob Dalton, we will not only give you some tips and guidance for hooding a falcon, but show you that luggers can be hooded very well indeed...
Very nicely done
Beautiful film of a master at work. Amazing what you all do ❤
Good job sir 👏
Thank you, well presented. With difficult birds, I also do the 'dip'. I will slightly drop myself down a few inches as I am placing the hood on the bird. They will move their head up and it helps the hood placement over the head.
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
Thank You for posting this video. Helpful to many who struggle with hooding raptors. Showing ill fitting hoods and pointing out the proper fit is so important and most often falconers are not learning this today. Your tips on hooding also very helpful. I am most interested in the blocked anglo-indian hood you're using and would like to know where I can purchase that hood. Can you provide a link to the hood maker please.
Today release laggar Falcon
