You have to miss the "workhorse" running back. Derrick Henry is fantastic and is reminiscent of the old workhorse RB's but he comes out of the game in most passing situations and that includes long periods of time if the team is trailing and they need to pass more. Teams can say that committees work better, and we have seen instances where committees are great, but a true workhorse running back is someone special and they seem to put some fear into opposing coaches and defenses.
That’s more so on coaching. When Henry was with Tennessee, they constantly took him out when the game was one the line. It was so weird to watch, because they lost nearly every game they did that and I’ve been watching this team since the early 2000s. They never took Eddie out, he stayed in the game until Chris Brown came along later in his career. I think it’s a coaching thing. Tennessee won most of the games when they relied on Henry in the clutch. Including a few OT games where he himself scored the walk off TD. Same with Baltimore this year. When they take him out they lose every time. Tennessee was too concerned with trying to make Tannehill the savior whilst Baltimore is doing the same with Lamar. Meanwhile, Philly is on a win streak for doing the opposite with Barkley & Hurts. Hurts performs better in the clutch with his star RB in the backfield. That’s how it’s always been.
