Hazard Zone could be a CS/Valorant style 5v5. You get put into a close quarters fight and whoever comes out on top gets extracted out of the HZ. There could be a shop based system at the start or a looting/reward incentive to create the high stakes.
They should update the way the soldiers hold there weapons even with a fore grip on it, helps with actual recoil, no one is hammer gripping the fore grip anymore lol
Your Hazard Mode theory sounds like it works with early Tom Henderson leaks that there were "missions" to complete during gameplay, he could have been getting leaks about Hazard Zone and not Conquest
Obviously I’d prefer playing with players only, but if it keeps the games full and busy at all times then I’m down. Most annoying thing is playing a full match then when it’s over half the players leave and you’re sat in the next game with hardly anyone in it.
Never played battlefield before but after hearing about it I am excited to play 2042. The thing that really made me want to play is the fact is that it is full out war which sounds FUN
Have you ever played Battlefield 1 in Australia when theres only 10 people in a server? It sucks because i can't play the game with that few players, so AI bots in these situations would be amazing.
I am concerned even more about the specialists now. The whole points in roles within the military are that this role is in charge of this thing. You would go to your demolitionist to deal with explosives. You would go to your support gunner for heavy fire /ammo refills. This system seems to just totally remove that
I agree. Having player types with special roles & traits is nothing new but having those players have access to all of the primary & secondary weapons could turn into a real unbalanced mess. We'll see but I'm not a huge fan of this on the surface.
BF has become COD where everyone is a super soldier that can take ANY gun with a Massive RPG and a C4 as a granade There are no classes either advantages or drawbacks
That last game mode, Hazard, sounds similar in mechanics to The Division's Survival game mode. You can get the objective, extract and that's it. Or you can get the objective, build yourself up, kill other players, then extract or be last person standing and extract after all others are dead or gone.
I like the idea of hazard zone being an objective based mode where multiple teams are scrambling to get the gear they need whilst also facing off against each other, from the sounds of it it'll be like cold wars dirty bomb mode but better and with different objectives within each 9f the maps. Cant wait for more to be revealed!
Personaly even knowing that there is only one ai soldier in the game takes away all fun for me. It also just takes away the competetiveness and I hate it.
Odds are, you'll probably be going up against less than 9 or absolutely none. If you are in the US. Odds are you probably won't even encounter bots. If you do you still are going up against 50+ other players. Don't know how you can lose a competitive interest. As a competitive person, if I'm not going against a full team then I take easy that match, but if the boys are like Titanfall, then I'm probably not going to take it so easy.
I'd get the point if every team was top level players and then there's just hilariously bad bots but we all know in matches that isn't the case there's a few top players in matches followed by just good players then average then human bots then the actual bots
There is only one open gadget slot for you to choose - ammo crate or medic crate or repair tool or Rocket launcher in it . So , RPG issue is suppressed as we don’t had supply stations in this game . Last slot is for explosives only and the 3rd slot is specialist slot which can’t be changed .
We all have to bear in mind that we’re not gonna get a campaign with this year’s Battlefield, so even if some people don’t like it, maybe this new “specialists” are actually kinda necessary to explain the lore of the game, something like what WZ did with Verdansk’s story
I'm excited and happy to know that my Aussie friends will have a way to play the game with full servers. Yeah it's Ai but that's better than not being able to play
I'm from Indonesia.. I usually play BF4 at night during weekdays. Most of the time I struggle to get populated servers in SEA and Australia to join in. Past 12AM and all server basically dead in Australia so no one is playing even at weekend. The fact that BF2042 will include AI match both on MP and Solo/Co-op is a miracle for me..
@@unityman3133 Can be better in everything, I know what I talking because I work with this technologies, we have the example of Dota2 when the AI defeat the world champion team.
This bot system is very similar to what Killzone 3 had on PS3. As people joined a game an AI bot would simply just drop out and the spot would be taken with a live player. It worked really well actually in the sense that the game would still progress. I have no doubt that the AI in a newer game will likely be better at multiplayer; they were pretty predictable back in KZ3, hopefully that's not as much the case with BF2042.
I wish they would have like a Killzone 2 multiplayer mode. Where you play Domination, Propaganda(capture the flag), VIP, and TDM, all simultaneously in 1 match.
Only experience I've had with AI has either been hit scan, pre-firing, shooting through walls or stood still bots, that barely get a kill. So in my opinion, its a bad move
Do you all remember those battlefield 3 videos where all 64 players would shoot RPGs at the same time and it would look crazy cool? His worries at 9:43 basically sound like that video.
One thing that is worrying to me about the gameplay balance is how vehicles vs infantry will be balanced. I think there needs to be more ways to change vehicles to counter the ease of infantry to get anti vehicle equipment
Hey, Westie do you think that the AI will be able to use the vehicles in the game? Like for example if there isn’t a lot of players and the game feels like it isn’t empty because of the AIs but dont you think it will still feel empty bcz there isn’t any vehicles running around? But also it would be very annoying if the AI steal the heli after you have been waiting to get it, what do you think?
My take on Hazard Zone would be something like a blend between naval strike and chain link. Where the main objective is to stop or start (depending on the side you're on) some kind of apocalyptical event from occurring. So for example if there was like a nuke that is going to launch, the team that is trying to launch it would have to capture points to activate a relay of some kind so that the nuke has power. Then once it reaches enough power, it would activate or launch a nuke to another city or the city you're in. Then in order for the opposing team to stop it, they can either capture a majority of the map to reduce the power to the nuke and it would eventually deactivate OR there could be an abort button, but it would be like in the movies where there are two keys on like opposite sides, so you'd have to communicate with your squad mates to press the buttons at the same time. And after the launch happens, you would be timed before it explodes. So like you only have like 5 min left before you lose. For me this makes more sense to cause those high tension/sweaty hands moments.
*Titanfall did the same thing and that game slapped. I don’t know why some people are worried about this, I have faith in DICE after the reveal of BF2042*
As an Aussie I can attest... literally gave up trying to play BF1 because I could never find a server in our region. And it could have been that I was missing other players by just minutes. So having bots in game could actually draw more of us back in who would have previously just given up, because we can game actively regardless of when other players are joining or exiting the round.
Really good stuff. I think the concerning scenario you explained with everyone taking rpgs isn't really something that wasn't possible before. Everyone could take engineers and have rpgs if they want, I think the additional space with these maps combined with the greater flexibility to create loadouts will make this system make sense. Of course, none of us can know until we play! I'm really looking forward to it. Also, I find that the many people expressing concern over the cloned characters running around are pretty funny. That's exactly how it was before, if you just ignore the name of the character there's nothing different about it. If anything there will be more variety of characters running around now than there ever was since there are multiple specialists for each class.
Sounds like they brought in a lot of help to finish this one. Somewhere I heard the need for speed team did the vehicles. .. Battlefront team to work on robots and gadgets? All hands on deck for gameplay and maps. Plus hired a cod team to handle gun customization and skin sales? Hopefully the extra manpower is true, and it helps fix the bugs before launch.
My Concept: If the Commander mode returns then here's what they should add, your team captures a position, now the Commander has a new gadget the paratrooper drop. The Commander calls in on a position and a C-130 flies through the map and can drop randomly between 10-20 AI soldiers, they are the first 4 classes and can capture objectives, if you need ammo they automatically run up to you to give you ammo, if you need health same thing and the medics can have a slight chance to revive you if you die near them.
Ye I doubt you’d get points for killing AI, or maybe it’d be heavily reduced. Idea, maybe the player to bot ratio effects how much a bot kill is worth. Almost full lobby, the same as normal or slightly less 50% bots = 50% of the point Only bots plus a couple no points
Your explanation of hazard zone sounds really good. It also sounds plausible because arma or a game like this runs 24/7 with open servers you can jump in and out off. Either way it's gunna be MEGA

With these specific specialist's, I don't like the fact that they get special treatment. I want to make my own character in the game, but say I want the medic gun. I can't get it because I have to play as a fixed character that I don't care about. I know not everyone will care which is good for them but for people like myself who just want to have full customised freedom for immersion & fairness, it's pretty poor and clearly a money making tactic if you don't want to buy any pass's for the game. I think there's gonna be millions of the same characters running around because of this system as well.
Westie there doesn't appear to be any close quarters maps like metro, grand bazaar or locker Do you think we'll get any of these remastered or any close quarter maps at all? I'm skeptical cause remasters of these maps may not tie in with their story told multi-player?
I think the maps are so big and diverse that they’ll have their own micromaps within them (like areas of capture zones or whatever they’re called), some of which will be tailored to close quarters infantry gameplay.

They gonna be in mutliplayer to fill servers cuz regions like south africa and that dont cant find any servers , but i dont think you gonna see them a lot in other regions like europe and america , im sure its gonna be filled with players .
Bruh?? The reason for these bots being there is to fill up the empty space in an incapacitated MP match (due to the sheer amount of player needed for a full house); this, combined with the fact that there's no Singleplayer campaign indicates that bots will definitely be a major part of the MP experience, and you're telling me that they shouldn't be available in MP servers? what's wrong with you? Sorry, just got emotional for a bit, no offense. Anyways, I'm just restating what Westie said in the video (as he clearly said they will be filling the empty spots in the servers). So next time, check for the authenticity of your facts (or opinions) before... eh... making your statement. Adios
Agree with your point on destruction. It makes me slightly worried that many of the maps have these massive skyscrapers because realistically it's only moderate-sized buildings that will allow for complete destruction.
Jackfrags was talking about in one of his videos, that progression are enabled when you play against the AI solo or co op ?, and this link also talks about it . www.gamesradar.com/battlefield-2042-campaign-isnt-happening-to-give-dice-space-to-focus/
Hopefully not comparable XP to actual multiplayer, since that could easily be exploited probably, but that's easily adjustable in any way. If you earn XP, but it's way lower than just doing a multiplayer game (without having to do very good), then that's fine.
1. Hazard Zone is like Rainbow Six Siege, there is a team of four that has to complete an objective, you only have one life, and if you die the rest of your team has to go on, and there will be other teams fighting you to complete their objectives, you see what this sounds like.
I actually thought the same thing the other day when they said that. It would be something interesting. And if they go full Tarkov the AI could be very scary as well.
Hear me out. The specialists category diversity is a prologue for battleroyale later introduced in the game. In other words, just like operators in WZ or legends in Apex, every specialist will have an unique set of abilities (gadgets) that are going to arrange the weapon builds, strats, etc.
I’m interested how the good the AI will be in vehicles. Really love the idea though so you can play with friends and just mess around but helps to keep lobbies healthy
Bots are in Battlefield games since the first game. You can easily spot them, most of the time they are recons on edge of the map doing nothing. And oftentimes do random chat spam calling others hackers.
That's an interesting theory you have laid out for us Westie. It would certainly be interesting to see a AAA studio make something similar to Escape From Tarkov though. Whatever Hazard Zone is or ends up being I'm looking forward to seeing it at EA Play in July.
Maybe Hazard Zone will be something like Hunt: The Showdown? You get a character and build him/her up as you survive a match, and if your character is eliminated during a match, you lose this character, the character really "dies". People will get attached not only for their loot, but for their characters too. It would be very sweaty...
Hi mate, regarding the fear of 128 people running RPG.....this kinda already was the case as the guy said.....playing Op firestorm on bf3/bf4 was always 10 people on the hills sniping and 54 people running engineer
I did see a scene in the stadium part, where the player Was in Fact using his top sight on a long range scope.. So I wonder how that works with limited buttons
I think the class/operator/open gadget system sounds great with one tweak. I think explosive gadgets should be available to all classes but should be subdivided with some overlap. 2 classes only should have access to rocket launchers; engineer and assault. 2 classes should have access to c4; Recon and engineer. 2 classes should have access to grenade launchers; Assault and Support. From there I think every other gadget could be open and that would ensure plenty of play style freedom and variety between players. I also strongly believe everyone should have their operator gadget, in addition to 2 open gadgets with only one open gadget allowed to be an explosive (GL/RL/C4) and the other gadget being a utility gadget like a beacon, smoke launcher, ammo/medic crate/pouch, repair tool, spotting flair etc. of course some of those utility gadgets may actually be tied to operators in 2042, in which case they would already be exclusive to whichever class the operator belongs too. I think this would give every class a fighting chance against different vehicles depending on the situation without stripping each class if it’s individuality and guaranteeing everyone runs an RPG.

I like Battlefield 2042 more than warzone already and it’s not even had a beta yet
Agreed battlefield is for the men/women call of duty is for the boys/girls
Why even compare battlefield to that filth in the first place 😂
A lot if people calling this game amazing with almost no legit gameplay yet, like hold your horses man,its just some polished trailers
Hazard Zone could be a CS/Valorant style 5v5. You get put into a close quarters fight and whoever comes out on top gets extracted out of the HZ. There could be a shop based system at the start or a looting/reward incentive to create the high stakes.
The livestream was great very much enjoyed it, Great video as always!

Also the UCAV, Mortar, and Arty cuase why not.
That sounds like so much fun and so frustrating at the same time. I pity the one guy who decided to get in a tank.
I don't want AI in normal matches
So join a full server
I do. Would be boring in 6 years when people have moved on to something else.
1 more real player = 1 less bot
full server = no bots at all
Have you ever played Battlefield 1 in Australia when theres only 10 people in a server? It sucks because i can't play the game with that few players, so AI bots in these situations would be amazing.
But i like bots
Good change because it's frustrating when 20 people leave after a match and u got to find another server in the evening because no one is joining.
BF has become COD where everyone is a super soldier that can take ANY gun with a Massive RPG and a C4 as a granade
There are no classes either advantages or drawbacks
I think because the specialist are still under a class it won't completely go away
That last game mode, Hazard, sounds similar in mechanics to The Division's Survival game mode. You can get the objective, extract and that's it. Or you can get the objective, build yourself up, kill other players, then extract or be last person standing and extract after all others are dead or gone.
everyone is happy for AI existing but i’m worried that the AI is the same as cyberpunk
Nah, you can't really compare the two, they are completely different type of games, so I would be quite positive
Dice worked on battlefront 2. The ai in that game is pretty good. I was really hoping they would bring it to battlefield, I’m sure it’s gotten better.
Dice has already been testing ai sense bf1
I like the idea of hazard zone being an objective based mode where multiple teams are scrambling to get the gear they need whilst also facing off against each other, from the sounds of it it'll be like cold wars dirty bomb mode but better and with different objectives within each 9f the maps. Cant wait for more to be revealed!
Personaly even knowing that there is only one ai soldier in the game takes away all fun for me. It also just takes away the competetiveness and I hate it.
You dont know how hard the AI will be yet. Dont make opinions yet.
@robert racy I mean, they are only there when you have missing players and if you're making a server you can turn it off
Odds are, you'll probably be going up against less than 9 or absolutely none.
Use the server browser and join servers at like 126/128 player capacity. Problem solved, bots avoided.
So hyped for this game!
Damn I'm not sure I like that, in Battlefront 2 the AI feels very bad and you can instantly tell its AI.
Nowadays the AI can be better than real players if they want ;-)
@@BrunoGarciaSoftwareDev mechanically sure but otherwise no
PUBG.... AI Bad
@@unityman3133 Can be better in everything, I know what I talking because I work with this technologies, we have the example of Dota2 when the AI defeat the world champion team.
@@BrunoGarciaSoftwareDev well it's easy to make ai insanely good but it's hard to make them act human like
This bot system is very similar to what Killzone 3 had on PS3.
Absolutely correct. Titanfall sucked for this. That’s why I don’t play it anymore
From what I see there making vehicles more fun by adding a ton of seats to make it easier to go against infantry.
Plus, from the footage of maps it seems like maps are essentially going to have vehicle heavy areas and infantry heavy areas.
Imagine flying a jet and then over a hundred rockets fly into the sky, it'll be the new "our arrows will block out the sun" XD
I mean, if they legit fuck up again I think they're gonna kill this franchise
As an Aussie I can attest... literally gave up trying to play BF1 because I could never find a server in our region. And it could have been that I was missing other players by just minutes. So having bots in game could actually draw more of us back in who would have previously just given up, because we can game actively regardless of when other players are joining or exiting the round.
If BF got a tarkov mode i'll freaking loose my mind. A dream come true.

This game is gonna be sooooo broken at launch lol
Gotta remember they had an extra year. Im optimistic.
Hopefully the AI option can be turned off, and that it wont allow for exploutation for xp etc
I wouldn't be surprised if they made the bot kills give 20% normal kill xp or even none.
Ye I doubt you’d get points for killing AI, or maybe it’d be heavily reduced.
Idea, maybe the player to bot ratio effects how much a bot kill is worth. Almost full lobby, the same as normal or slightly less
50% bots = 50% of the point
Only bots plus a couple no points
I would expect that dice will lower the xp on AI kills
This would be pretty stupid so I doubt it
I wouldnt mind if you could unlock things with ai, as long as you cant get achievements with them
Your explanation of hazard zone sounds really good.

Westie there doesn't appear to be any close quarters maps like metro, grand bazaar or locker
Do you think we'll get any of these remastered or any close quarter maps at all? I'm skeptical cause remasters of these maps may not tie in with their story told multi-player?

Still not good about specialists.
Also, hazard zone is probably something like csgo or 6siege.
HAZARD ZONE sounds like Dark Zone in THE DIVISION
Strike 1 bots should not be in public matches.. they are already admitting defeat and the game hasn’t even came out yet.. smh
Battlefront 2 and chivalry 2 both have them and it’s awesome lol what are you on about

Bots will be replaced when a player joins. If a map has less players you would be bored and a bad experience especially since maps are huge now
Wouldnt say they admit defeat with this but still playing with bots is fucking boring and annoying
I hope they improve on the AI from the Coop Missions ins Battlefront 2, they already did a good job there

Hazard zone almost sounds like something akin to Arma 3 Wasteland possibly? Large map with various missions scattered throughout.
Can't wait to get this game at launch and get the "only in battlefields" bugs for the first couple weeks. It's the orientation/hazing by dice.
The ai filling slots is actually brilliant.
Imagine a uneven match. And than bam bots join in. No more 20v6 matches.
And campy

I’m glad your taking a break from warzone and doing this westie and I’m glad it’s proving results!!!
Imagine Only in Battlefield moment: You Zipline from one building to another the building behind you crumbles to ground while you in mid Zipline.
Imagine Only in Battlefield moment: You grapple hook to a Crane to take down that pesky sniper and it starts to crumble while you in mid swing.
Now that would be some awesome battlefield 2042 moments. 🤔
