funky friday was an event in streatham (dave's area) that was held at an ice rink. it was shut down because of how much trouble there used to be there. 1 person was shot dead after people ran through the back doors. "we come through like funky friday and have all of your mandem skating" skating also means scattering/running away. This song was produced by Dave and went number 1 in the charts.
