I remember this mall well as a South Florida resident at the time it was probably the biggest mall in the area. It gained alot of bad publicity when some cocaine Cowboys decided to execute a contract killing in the parking lot. When I lived there in the early 80s the place was transitioning from a majority Anglo business to what is now Hispanic. No need to know Spanish because most everybody speaks English-all are welcome there. Back in my days these malls all had a bookstore or two so you could get you a newspaper or book at bookstore then go to the food plaza order an expresso coffee and read your news in peace while your wife and kids shopped. What i hate most about the digital business like Amazon is it killed the bookstore.
I wasn't alone at the time of that cowboy event. But I can imagine back then it was one of the more popular malls of the days. Hope u enjoyed the tour and hopefully it brought back good memories. Aside from that cowboy incident.
crazy how much dadeland mall has changed ever since they built that mall extension in 2013 (best times when i was a kid) where the robbery took place in 2008 atleast dadeland mall will always be better than international mall & the falls
@@WanderingBluemonkeyi look forward to that it’s definitely changed too hasn’t been the same since 2019 such a shame they closed bloomingdales in 2020 & then demolished it in 2021 & then turned it into a gym 😭

Yea It has changed over time. Its been ages since I've been to the falls. Definitely will try and schedule that in one day.
