This is actually an awesome video man. Tons of others show what the bike does or how people that already know how to ride can handle it. But no other actually shows the experience of a first time rider (which I am hoping to get with the KSL 125 in the following months). So yes, awesome first time experience and thanks for showing it! Looking forward for my "disastrous" first time experience too hehe
Do not worry about it, it was just the first day, then thighs start to get better and looking bakc at it, I am very confident now! Good luck with your new bike!
I have a Keeway Superlight 125 which I love to ride; after 2 years it's still like showroom condition. I noticed the difficulty you were having to start the bike, I had the same when I bought mine. It's caused by the bloody spark plug; the spark plug should be set between 0.7 of a mm to 0.9 of a mm. The spark plug in mine coming from the factory was set at 25mm; so it was never going to run properly. I purchased a high grade plug, set it to the correct gap and since it just sounds like a Harley. I understand the spark plug setting coming from the factory is often wrong which has caused many an owner major distress. Your bike seems to be having this problem; if you've not already checked take the spark plug out, replace with a good grade one and the correct gap setting and I assure you that you'll be amazed at the difference.
Mine is used everyday and it is not so showroom condition! The bike has been serviced few days ago and the spark plug was changed, I do not notice difference but I can tell it has a round and deep sound. Anyway a few months after I bought the bike I could not start it at all, I had battery, right switches and I think spark plug replaced under warranty.
TonyPayne it may well be the carb isnt set correctly therefore too much or not enough fuel is being used. Try adjusting the idle valve. Or the needle may be slightly clogged. Remember its not fuel injected
daddydibby By default I discovered the fault with mine; before put mine back on the road for the summer I decided to change the spark plug. The setting should be 0.7 - 0.9 of a mm, it's started first time and sounded like a Harley. The spark plug the manufacturer put in was set at 25mm, no wonder i had difficulties starting it along with it cutting out. I spoke with the supplier who assured me that the bikes are delivered with the spark plug fitted, someone wasn't doing there job correctly.
Same thing happened to me when I got mine, did not even know how to start it... I requested the seller he leave it on and lend me his helmet to take it home, it was a 10km ride, first one ever, I sent the helmet back through uber hahaha!
(Although its a year old maybe this'll help people watching, or even you :) ) for a first ride that's pretty good I'd say! Saw one of these at a dealer I went to and for a 125 its certainly a big bike haha. I only have 2 little things I feel might be useful to point out to new riders, 1- don't rev too high on takeoff. On a few occasions I noticed you revved quite high and jolted on the bike, but on your first few rides this is hard to avoid. A tip to help is to go into your drive or a quiet street and practice finding your friction zone of your clutch and rev matching with the gears. 2- not enough shoulder checks. Mirrors are great, but when you changed lanes a few times you hardly shoulder checked. Blind spots are always there, and a quick half second glance could make all the difference. Hope your still loving and enjoying the bike, ride safe and have fun!
+GamerGasm Do you mean I have to turn my head to look back? What I do is lean a bit to look at the mirror so I get the whole picture of what is behind me.
+TonyPayne yeah, I just personally find it that little bit safer to look behind me, because sometimes mirrors can be small or only have a small view angle. But its personal preference really :) just something they teach here when you get your licence
+TonyPayne I think its just practice more than anything :) I just do a very quick check, and because I use my bicycle a lot and I have no mirror that tends to be my only way to see behind me. just practice very little quick checks when your confident and it'll become natural :)
+GamerGasm I've been practicing for some time and now I am able to make quick glances left and right to look in the mirror blindspots. I find it very useful now that I am used to it

I need help. Because of Corona i havent been with my keeway.(2 months). It hasnt been Turned on for a while. The problem is it doesnt start. No spark. The lights are all ok so it isnt the batery . Might be the spark plug?
When my battery was dead I also used to have lights but no start. To rule it out try to start the engine either with the pedal or by pushing the bike, you could it within a few meters.
@@01TonyPayne i tried the other option . Now i press the start button and its like the bike doesnt work. Its just like no power. In the second i press the start button makes noise and then nothing. I think i need a mecanic
When you jumpstart it on a slope don't use the start button, just put second gear and slowly engage the clutch. I still bet its the battery, let me know what the mechanic says!
Hi! This is my very first bike so I can't compare. Like you, I bought mainly for the looks. Keep in mind this is not the fastest of the lot with just 10bhp (competitors sport 15) If you mainly commute around the city it would do the job just fine and with style. If you want to cruise on highways maybe the power can be a concern: after 80 km/h it becomes slow picking up speed and on a climb it looses speed fast (like any ohter 125 I guess). I found mileage to be very good and so far the only issues I got were related to loose screws wich have been tightened in the shop.
thanks really appreciate the reply, ive been looking for a while and i have decided to buy one (just waiting for current bike insurance to run out on my 100cc before buying as it can be expensive to cancel insurance) did you buy new or second hand?
branty36 No problem, glad to help. Take your time to look around until you still own the 100cc. I bought it new because it was very cheap, but there were some used ones with very low mileage because people buys them and then decides to switch to higher a displacement. For me they weren't much of a deal because the price was not very low compared to new. If you are lucky you could find a little used one with some warranty left. another good thing about the bike is the sound: compared to toher fuel inheced 125, this one roars and it is very cool.
should always make sure if u get something like that from a Dealership u have a full fuel Tank whats the point in getting something if u not know how long it will last for if u just got it, the fuel for mine is good as a fully brimmed tank will last me a whole month and that also includes high speeds as well
Totally Quantum most likely. I bought the bike 6 months ago and it doesn't like taking off in 2nd at all. It can be done, but it won't sound too good! Really good first bike though, it's a bit slow off the mark compared to other bikes but it's a small sacrifice to pay
Totally Quantum Don't think you'll have any regrets. Some things to keep in mind though. The kickstand sensor is too low down the chassis. I've sheered mine clean off, I have no idea how but I've broken 2 of them - the last time it happened I unscrewed it and hid it inside the bike. perhaps a speed bump might have been the cause. The stock headlight is trash, I replaced it with a LED projector "Day maker" lens and it's much better now, had to pay a shop £40 to fit it as there was some cable splicing involved. I haven't owned another bike before so I can't compare the tyres to anything else, but I've read other people say that they aren't great. I've had my back wheel slide out on me twice. Once on the rain and once on some gravel.Lluckily I was going slow, I fell off the bike and dropped it both times but the positioning of the footboards and the handlebar ends mean that the rest of the bike doesn't get damaged if it falls on its side (the end of the exhaust has some small scrapes on the tip). if you're buying second hand, look for scrapes on the sides of the footboards if you want to know if it's been in a crash. My bike doesn't shift easy into neutral. If I come to a stop in 1st gear, the shifter will not move up unless I give it some revs, then it freely moved into neutral no problem. Took me a while to figure this out. Hope that helps.
+ben piercy I have the same with added panniers and back trunk box , mine dose 80mph easy , wrapped exhaust for scavenge effect , only problems ive had of recently is the chain snapping and the ignition wiring snap from how it was put together but it got fixed and is good now
Planning to buy my first 125cc. Never driven one either. I'm impressed by your skills. After watching this I'm less nervous about my first ride. Btw, do you still ride this Keeway of have you moved on to a different bike? Considering getting the Keeway Superlight too.
Thank you! I didn't have any previous training, but if you have at least driven a car it is not very different. After the first few weeks it became natural. Don't let this hold you back. Now I have a bigger bike. My advice if you like the Superlight is to look for a similar styled bike which goes closer to the power limit of the 125cc. It is underpowered for anything outside city limits. The worst problem I had was battery, I had to buy a new one every 6 months no matter if I rode it or not.
@@01TonyPayne thanks for your advice. Now I am in doubt because you say it's underpowered. Did you regret buying the Keeway then? It looks so very comfortable and relaxing to ride but I don't want to regret it after a month. Tomorrow I'm making a trip to the Keeway dealer to have a look. There is only one store in Belgium that sells these bikes and it's quite a long trip to make. Looking forward to see it in real life but still not sure if it is the bike I'm going to get...
For me it was an impulse buy. I thought it was better than public transport and bought it because of the looks and price knowing that I won't be using it outside the city. The I started to like motorcycling and I needed to work outside city. I learnt what I don't want from a bike, I don't regret it but I would not buy it again. Now this is all very subjective, I can tell you if it is your first bike, the first time you will ride it will look wonderful.

another good thing about the bike is the sound: compared to toher fuel inheced 125, this one roars and it is very cool.
should always make sure if u get something like that from a Dealership u have a full fuel Tank whats the point in getting something if u not know how long it will last for if u just got it, the fuel for mine is good as a fully brimmed tank will last me a whole month and that also includes high speeds as well
I cannot do that, here they don't give you free full tank when you buy a vehicle, so first thing you do is refill.
What was he doing wrong at 9:30 to make it stall so much? Releasing the clutch too fast + too much RPM?
Julian Corson he was trying to set off in second I thibj
Totally Quantum most likely. I bought the bike 6 months ago and it doesn't like taking off in 2nd at all. It can be done, but it won't sound too good! Really good first bike though, it's a bit slow off the mark compared to other bikes but it's a small sacrifice to pay
Julian Corson yeah I'm considering getting one as a backup bike as my current bike is in repair and I'm stuck without anything currently
He's dragging rear brake to much I bet
+tonypayne
I hate up hill especially starting from a stop and I have to give her more revs, just the fun of having a 125 lol
Does it have enough power to overtake the cars ?
And, what city is that ?
In town you can still overtake at traffic lights or by going faster than traffic flow. Not so much by acceleration. The city is Barcelona, Spain
what top speed did you get out of this? also now youve had it a while hows it going? any problems etc?
+ben piercy Top speed is around 100 km/h but the most important concern is torque, as the bike loses speed very fast uphill
+ben piercy I have the same with added panniers and back trunk box , mine dose 80mph easy , wrapped exhaust for scavenge effect , only problems ive had of recently is the chain snapping and the ignition wiring snap from how it was put together but it got fixed and is good now
+Mr KeeWay Cool! could you make a video showing top speed? mine does not go over 60mph. Only once I got it to 65 going downhill, with no wind.
@@01TonyPayne owkay thanks. I went for the Archive Cafe Racer instead. Waiting for it's delivery :) keep riding safely!
I don't know which one is that but I'm sure you are going to enjoy it a lot!
you should down shift while you were going :D
Sorry I dont speak Deutsche! You mean the idle RPMs are low and this is way the engine stalls?
This thing happens alot.. The engine dies too often
its great if you consider price with quality..
OMG...... what a champion ! LOL
