Welcome Wednesday's with Weingartz. I'm Ron Weingartz. Today I'm here to talk about Stihl Extended Reach Hedge Trimmers. Have you ever seen those tall privet hedges? How do you trim the top of them? People have used ladders and built platforms but what really makes the job easy is extended reach. The Stihl Extended Reach is basically a hedge trimmer on a shaft. There are a lot of different models. The straight model will give you a lot of reach for doing those tall privet hedges. You can even use it down at the bottom for full pruning.
There are models available geared more towards the homeowner as well as professional models. The largest model has a 55-inch shaft with a 24-inch blade and can fold for storage. This unit is articulating so you can lock it in different positions if you need to do the top of a hedge. You can put it in any different range of positions all the way up to the strait to give you an exceptional reach with the 55-inch shaft plus the 24-inch blade. It's really a super easy way to get those tall hedges trimmed and is much safer than using a ladder or building platforms. Overall, it's really a unique tool with a lot of different sizes depending on your budget and application.

These particular trimmers are meant for above ground, non-water cutting.
