You can see ambulances built on Volvo V70, XC70, XC90, VW Amarok, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Vito, VW T5 and Chevrolet Silverado.
All clips in this video are recorded by me 2016-2018.

Good video. It seems that the Swedes have taken the British 'Battenberg' scheme and developed it. IMHO, chevrons work better on the rear of the vehicles, having greater visual impact, rather than oblong blocks of colour.

So many different designs! Are they built in various different factories? Imdo not understand why they make vehicles with lights integrated into the body, must make them more intricate, expensive and difficult to repair compared to light bars.

Virkelig? Det har jeg ikke hørt enda, men er skikkelig synd egentlig. Sirenen vår skal jo ligne på USA sin, det er det som gjør norske ambulanser til norske. Den tyske minner meg om EU og føles utenlandsk :(

Btw de fleste utrykningskjøretøy i Europa har både wail / yelp some i Amerika og hi-lo som f.eks. i Tyskland. Det finnes ikke mange som har bare hi-lo sirenen

Do these high-roof station wagon ambulances have any advantages over van ambulances?
The comfort and safety is more like in a ''regular car'' and the top speed is higher but there are also many disadvantages like higher price and less space.
Scandinavian ambulances are generally smaller because for a big part of the year they’re driving in snowy conditions. Smaller car or 4x4 based vehicles are better.
Oh and smaller streets in the cities.
I guess the city streets in Scandinavia aren't really smaller compared to city streets in e.g. Germany, where they use 5 ton vans with a big box body ...

That’s how safe they are... there is no point in driving an ambulance to save people if your in need of saving
Icenberg they’re better get there safely than not getting there at all. They might have a patient in the back and you don’t want them to look like they been 10 rounds with mike Tyson on the arrival to the hospital.
Icenberg If going fast is bad for the patient, they would drive slowly. An ambulance is not an Formula 1 car.
Since they're nearly all in cities, it'd be bloody silly to go charging about they're in The Dukes of Hazzard
