- In this video I talk about the Top 5 Lego Dinosaurs from Jurassic Park or World that are either missing in Lego form or in need of a remake. As always thank you for watching my videos and please like, subscribe, and join the conversation in the comment section below.
On the Sauropods: Brontosaurus and Apatosaurus are two related dinosaurs. For a long time, people thought Brontosaurus was just a species of Apatosaurus, but a while back, they were split apart again. The animal name you're looking for is Brachiosaurus; however, the animal shown is actually another one still, namely Giraffatitan, which was once believed to be a species of Brachiosaurus (similar to the situation Brontosaurus and Apatosaurus had going on, albeit they are not as closely related). Some fossil replica displays of Giraffatitan are still mislabeled as Brachiosaurus to this day.
Brachiosaurus (actually Giraffatitan) and Apatosaurus are both present in Jurassic World, Brontosaurus, however, isn't.
The franchise also has featured Mamenchisaurus, albeit it looks incredibly off and seems to be an editted Brachiosaurus, and Dreadnoughtus, which is more or less "Apatosaurus but bigger".

That Parasaurolophus has been featured in all 6 films, and played a more big role in the last movie and in camp cretaceous so I'm very surprised they have made a figure for it. The bioluminescence Parasaurolophus from the show would make a great figure.

Pretty sure it's because it's dosn't have wow danger factor that would appeal to a kid you can see the same for the rescue safe sets there arn't really any prey animals to speak of in those set
@@niclasl2809 we have gallimimus and ankylosaurus and a triceratops which are all herbivores so really we’re just missing 2 herbivores; brachiosaurus(or apato because I doubt we’d get both) and parasaurolophus
@@JosephsJungle8 the triceratops and Ankylosaurus could potentially be dangerous with their weapons. The club and horn and spikes could be dangerous and likely hurt a person

I think another good honorable mention would be an allosaurus as it’s certainly a famous Jurassic carnivore.

I feel like Lego has gotten excessively lazy with their recent dinosaur sets. Think about it: there are how many recolors of the same dinosaurs we've seen since 2012? I can say there are at least 6-8 T. rex models they keep reusing and just recoloring it when they could be making completely new molds for completely different dinosaurs. I don't think it would be that hard for them to make a new mold for a new dino. They haven't even tried getting the Baryonyx looking accurate to the movie because you can see on it that it literally has the same toe claws that the Indoraptor Lego has, it's just recolored to match the color of the Baryonyx (this is also true with the Therizinosaurus. See my point? LAZY.)
They also made I think 3 sets of raptor Blue as if we still want velociraptors after the number of other sets with raptors in them. And they just _keep_ coming out with recolors. I was really excited to see if they'd do anything different with the Giganotosaurus model but no, it's just the Indominus rex head with T. rex arms and recolored. It doesn't even look like a Giganotosaurus. It's so disappointing.
My guess is that the trex sets sell well and help draw people to the sets?
For their "Nasutoceratops" they just used a recolored Triceratops.
Raptors and the Rex are two of the most popular dinosaurs this was always going to happen and blue is a main character it’d be weird if she wasn’t in sets

@@StanFalade I know, Lego has gotten very lazy with their dinosaurs lately all it would have took is to modify the Triceratops head a bit, It's just 1 new pice, it probably would only cost the 3 bucks to make. They also made the Pyroraptor and Atrociraptor very small and only be able to move their jaw, Lego could have made everyone happy by reusing the Raptor body Legs and arms and just made two new head molds, but they went with the tiny route.
I do agree that we need a Spino, and at that matter Lego should do a series of Jurassic Park sets. Such as the Spino and the plane from JP3, the rv and the rexes from Lost World, and Rexy and the explore jeeps
Yea it sucks that the only modern Jurassic park sets so far are based on the first film from what I know. We need the lost world and jp3

The reason why the Brontosaurus/Apatosaurus and the Mosasaurus were never created in their modern molds was that they were too big. An accurate Mosasaurus in lego form would be 70 studs long (about two Lego T rexes long). An accurate Brontosaurus/Apatosaurus would be 90 studs long and 20 studs tall (Lego studs are a foot long in the lego world). Lego would need to make incredibly inaccurate dinos if they wanted to make them. Also your content is amazing for someone with 480 subscribers! Keep up the good work

There’s always the brick built option to scale it down like with the 2 newish brick built Rex’s they’re both different sizes

I'm not a collector of JP/JW sets cause I don't have enough money to get them, but I really want a Parasaurolophus, it's the only missing dino who appeared in all movies (with Rex, Trike and Raptors); besides it, Spinosaurus, Mosasaurs and Stegosaurus are the others I would like to see.

I really don’t understand why they can’t just use or take inspiration from the lego game dinosaurs.
There's a few factors on what would make a lego figure marketable and worth the asking price, such as how the toy model can be articulated as compared to its animated more flexible in game inspiration (you may have to lose bulk in the body mold to allow for movable legs, or in the case of the brachiosaurus, have a bulky body mold but the legs remain unmovable) or if the toy can stand on its own (which is why Mattel gives their dinos large feet compared to the rest of the figure) In the Lego video games anything can bend and distort and stand on its own, but it may not translate well when making the physical toy.
What I miss is the JP3 Ceratosaurus. We have no stubby midsize carnivores. And Ceratosaurus is my favorite. Also where is the Allosaurus from Big rock? Tiger raptor from TLW? And the raptors from JP3.. All of the just need a recolouring from a existing mould. Or use the Atrosiraptor mould.

Personally, I'm waiting for Microceratus, Edmontosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Corythosaurus, Metriacanthosaurus, Compsognathus, Ceratosaurus, Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Spinosaurus, Ouranosaurus, Nothosaurus, Scorpios Rex, Stegosaurus, Kentrosaurus, Nasutoceratops, Sinoceratops, Angel and Rebel the hybrids from seasons 4 and 5 of Camp Cretaceous (Spinoceratops I guess?), Dimorphodon, Allosaurus, Lystrosaurus, Dimetrodon, Mosasaurus, Tylosaurus, Dsungaripterus, Oviraptor, Moros Intrepidus, Miragaia, Suchomimus, Pachycephalosaurus, Dreadnoughtus, Utahraptor, Yangchuanosaurus, and Monolophosaurus. (Yes, all of these species have appeared in Jurassic Park/World movies/tv shows/games of questionable canonicity.)
I totally agree with everything on this list, I do think that brontosaurus is a little more deserving than spinosaurus even though I really want spinosaurus. Lol

I think it's actually a lot more deserving because even though Spinosaurus is really cool it's just another carnivorous theropod. Right now Lego is missing an entire clade of dinosaurs, the sauropods, Lego should really make a sauropod.

These are some very convincing options and I agree, we need modern versions of these Dinosaurs, as well as Dinosaurs that never got a Lego Form. Also, it's not "Apatosaurus" or "Brontosaurus", I can see the confusion. It's actually a Brachiosaurus, there's a difference.
In my honest opinion, while all the Jurassic Park/World Dinosaurs are cool and well designed, I would love to see Lego Versions of the more scientifically accurate versions. I think it could help educate Kids on what Dinosaurs were "truly" (or at least based on the latest discoveries and most convincing theories) like, besides on the Silver Screen.

Spino will probably be maybe 5 dollars more than a T Rex
Stegosaurus will probably be the same price as the triceratops

I honestly don’t see why the mosasaurus is not on here and yes I know Lego made on in the past but we need a modern one and it would a nice original set idea not centered around jeeps or helicopters because their starting to get really old and not as exciting because it just the same thing being built so more original Dino’s dominion was the best wave in a long time for Jurassic because we got a lot of new Dino’s so hopefully we get new ones idk about 2023 maybe with CC coming to an end

@@AFOLsWelcome They look like the type of quality of let’s say the indom.. my father gave them to me on my 13th birthday, he’s good at crafting things and may of done them himself.. I’m not sure if they are actually lego brand now- I’ll have to ask him

Number 1 is Brachiosaurus and not apatosaurus. They even said it in the original jurassic park when Alan, Lex and Tim climbed on the big tree and saw the group of the Brachiosauruses.

I really want a allosaurus Lego figure we saw them in Jurassic world 2 and 3 and I think the carno and allo should have been In that underground black market Lego because we didn't actually see the t Rex in it
I really want a spinosaurus Lego set with the plane crash or the final battle scene it was in camp cretaceous season 4 and 5 and in jp3 I also would like a bumpy mold for the new Ankylosaurus figure and we still need a lost world and jp3 raptor mold and paint work a corythosaurus would be cool and there should be a clear indominus Rex figure
the ones i want that arent on the list are a suchomimus the other velocie raptors (the ones from thr lego jurassic world video game are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO extremely underrated they’re basically charlie and delta but recolored i realy need them as well as the jpark one the lost world and jp3 ones i really really need them i even made up names for the ones in video games the skins i wanna see happen are
1 j park 1 raptor they used him in the game in the kitchen and some other scenes this is not the one who was locked in the freezer
2 frostbone this one is the charlie reskin he looked a lot like the jp3 raptor when it comes to colors. he was the other one in the kitchen that got locked in the freezer in the video game this velociraptor as well as the other ones that were only in the game are very unlikely since they were never seen in any movie or anything like that just the lego game
3 carrizor he was supposed to be the jp3 raptor but hes a little different, every piece is just dark green with no other color he has his red eyes, no quills, signature stripe just like blue. i just reeeeally liked his looks when i first played the game
4 alpha this one is the delta reskin and hes colors fit him soooooo much better. he wasnt supposed to represent anything he was “the big one” he was in jp 2 and 3 he just looked so good with deltas pattern brown and black fits it so much better
5 scout i think he was supposed to be the lost world velociraptor since thats where he was except he looked nothing like the lost world raptors he still had the yellow eyes and actually looked almost identical to what this game used as the jp1 raptor except his leg pattern is different and the jp1 one had a thin white stripe coming down from the back of his head just lik blues left side and carrizor for scout he just had spotts replacing that line as in spotts coming from behing his head to his tail in a stripe like patters basically a broken stripe he was a bit more detailed and had a different head pattern
6 the lost world raptors these wont be that different from the gallamimus and stygimoloc torso since those were kinda tiger striped torsos the female one is less dull and has more light colors, the tiger stripes are less visable. both the male and females have green eyes with snake pupils instead of the riund ones in jp3
7 jp3 raptors these will be the male who looks like frostbone with dots instead of striped and the male looks like carrizor bit with kore detail, quils and some light color on his undersides and underjaw
i also wish that that all of these were playable in the game

Umm, it’s a brachiosaurus, apatosaurus was originally supposed to be in its place in the book, but for the movie it was swapped out, apatosaurus was present in Jurassic world tho
