i think its more that when were small things look larger then when we are adults. the house i lived in as a child , i went into as an adult and was like 'I remember it being so much bigger! by the same token if you travel a road that a few hours long at first your like what a long drive by after traveling the same route for a few months it no longer seems such a long drive. so when you put the two things together living day after day plus looking at though the eyes of an adult. time no longer seems long. but rather short.
Once you turn 21 that is when time starts flying before you know it you turn 25 and then wham 30 and it only feels like a couple of years have past its weird

Maybe a different direction... Time does NOT go by faster... We just get more done, more quickly, as James mentions. It is called experience and the joy it produces it euphoric. Also it so much easier to infuse our subconscious with the right things!

When your younger..You can't wait til Christmas and that makes the year go by so slow...or traveling to a cool fun destination. You can't wait to get there. So the road seems to go on. Mile after mile. The same goes for graduating High school or college. What a long haul, right ? ..."Anticipation"..!!!!! You're busy trying to speed up time,which makes it feel snail slooooow ! When you are older. You struggle to reverse that, because there is less to anticipate towards and time seems to travel like the speed of sound..! I guess it would be the control of patience. When we are younger,we struggle to control our patience. We are excited,more motivated, tapping our feet and biting our nails etc..When is it gonna get here or happen ? I want it yesterday ! Lack of Anticipation !
It’s because until you hit around like 21 or whatever you start to not look forward to much. Think you constantly are looking forward to an age when you’re younger and when you are just sitting there counting every minute waiting it seems slower. For example you can’t wait to be 10 then 12 or 13 then 16 then 18 then 21. After that you just wish you could go back to 13 or 16. (And this is coming from a 15 year old. Born June 7th 2003)

And rember this when when your 25 you well think your old and wish you 19 , when yiur 30 you wish you where 25 so on and so on but keep in mind thinking this way while rob you of your youth and well age your looks faster too . Here's my theory for what it's worth. I think our sense of time is similar to our other senses and tends to deteriorate as we age. Ie: hearing, eyesight, even speaking becomes slower as we age which is the same thing when you think about it. So why not the passage of time as well? As we age, time doesn't speed up but our sense of it does. I'm now in my late 60s and a week seems like a day used to be. A year like a month or two.
I'm 11 and everyday I always think school lasts only for a few hours and not 8 hours. Like each class I think it's every 30 mins in each class... but mostly when I go home, it went more faster.

The older we get the less able we are to deal with our dysfunctional programs so we find a need to utilize our chosen vices and addictions to keep from going mad and THAT is the reason we are not as in the moment to experience the moments that unfold in our lives in real time.
