I got this tombstone Blu-ray collection that's really neat and the quality actually came out really well which is what I wasn't expecting in all honesty!
I totally agree with about the MCU is indeed trash. Abbot and Costello meeting the Universal Monsters is indeed the best Hollywood crossover movie ever made! 👍
These movies gave me plenty of nightmares back when I was a kid in the early 60's. I just knew they were under the bed too! Great classic movies without all the gore that came later.
Back when it was fun to be scared! Total perfection with regard to casting, set decorations, music scoring editing, makeup (mostly by the amaziing Jack P. Pierce) and screenplays! Oh, yeah, one more thing - all these filmatic stories were told within 70-75 minutes!
I think of all of these, whilst you could probably call the 'birth' of Frankenstein's monster the most iconic, I think the Mummy's first appearance is the most powerful. Not a single look at the creature once the protagonist sees him, just hysterical laughter out of pure shock as a bandage disappears through the door...
The original Mummy film had a genuine spooky feeling to it. I suppose it did move along a little slow, But the fact that it was made 90 years ago and can still entertain young and old alike to this very day, Really shows what good acting, excellent make up, And even more, A good story line can do to a film.
The horror films Universal cranked from 1931-1956 were the best. Hammer later picked up where Universal left off and revived the horror genre form 1957-1974. And during Hammer’s run of the horror genre, Dark Shadows was born. I love the horror genre over every other genre in film

I just loved the Univesal monster black and white movies. I own all the Legacy collections. They never showed the Invisible Man? I own that Legacy collection too. I wish the Dracula Legacy collection should have come with Mark of the Vampire. I know Bela Lugosi didn't play Dracula in the movie, but a vampire by the name of Count Mola. Mark of the Vampire was an MGM film so it couldn't be part of the collection. I believe it is actually a sound remake of the lost film, London after Midnight. Lugosi doesn't play an actual vampire in the film but an actor pretending to be a vampire as a plot device.

Universal didn’t make a Jekyll and Hyde film other than Abbot and Costello. But you’re right they forgot the Invisible Man. imo, one of the better films.
Great video, there is one mistake though. The scene of Dracula meeting Renfield is not the first appearance of Dracula in the film. The count had disguised himself as his own coachman, obscuring his face, he's the one that actually drove Renfield to his castle just prior to this meeting. Also, although Dracula and Frankenstein were both released in 1931, Dracula was released first, So it's out of chronological order. I still loved it though...

I wish they would've also added more Universal Monsters in Ready Player One. Like Dracula, The Mummy, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and Metaluna Mutant.
My only gripe with Dracula's introduction was that Lugosi didn't say what Dracula says after seeing Jonathan's (it's Jonathan in the book, Renfield in the movie) off-put reaction to his complimenting the wolves' howling, in the book, he follows up the compliment with "Ah Sir, you city dwellers do not understand the feelings of the hunter"
