ALTERNATOR FAILURE!!! Flying from Sydney i had an alternator failure.. well thats what I thought?

I was fresh from getting my PPL and thought awesome I'll take my friend (An aspiring Pilot) for a fly down the Shellharbour and back so he can see what it's all about.
You will see in the video I was flying a new aircraft I hadn't flown before, we took off and got about 30 minutes into the flight before I had to go into emergency mode.
I flew the plane back to Bankstown with no electronics and no Radio, watch the video to see what happened ... and yes it was my fault...

I know this is an older video, but applies to all us (student) pilots even today. A great help and reference. Thanks for sharing -- sometimes we learn after the fact.

I agree mate, no ones ever perfect. This was my fuck up and I’ll own it. I was happy at this point I knew how to do a radio failure procedure and get back safely

Nope, drained the battery so no power to excite the alternator... no transponder and no communications... good lesson tho haha

Get down to a school and go for a trial introductory flight (TIF) when the restrictions open up go to Moorabbin there are a bunch of schools there !
