  • Have you ever wondered if the material in your coffee dripper can alter the taste of your brew?
We wanted to try the difference between the Metal V60 and the Ceramic V60.
In this video we brewed 2 coffees side by side with the only difference being the dripper, while the recipe, coffee beans and equipment were the same.
While this is in no way a scientific experiment we love exploring and testing new brews and comparisons.

I assume the steel extracted more compared on that of the ceramic due to the difference in heat dissipation.

I think so too, as well as the way it interacted with the filter. However I don't have enough measurements to give a definitive answer.

Metal’s heat transfer coefficient being much higher than ceramic. It’s thermal conductivity is much better thus allowing the dripper to absorb heat much quicker. Overall heating is also better because of this condition of metal. In fact many people even use plastic over ceramic because it gets hot way easier and provides a much more comfortable working space. Going for the steel one would of course be much more durable and also a far better option. Hope it helped if you were undecisive. 🎉
