Who else found Thor via his algorithm YT short?
Yes and no found him from his shorts and his streams I watch while at wrk
Same. Found his shorts, now I'm hookef
I'm glad South Park was useful in the end.
Pretty sure 80% of his viewers found him like this after his shorts channel blew up
me
i'm very curious to see how much his engagement has gone up since he started posting shorts. i'm so glad he did cause i love this channel and probably wouldn't have found him otherwise. what a genuine guy.
Same way I discovered Thor
He's talked about it on live streams. An absolute night and day difference.
I found him because of shorts as well. Frankly it was the short where he talked about his dad being the wow south park guy.
@@mybootscamewithoutstraps
A
I’m
Got me here
I love when Thor hears the Flu statue at first and is, oh cool the statue talks, and you just think, give it a few hours, and a few hours later...
I think he hated it the second he realized it blinked.
5:29:20 " I hate that statue so much dude" XD had me rolling it's very nice to watch others also deal with the same frustrations
it was the women started bragging about inventing floo powder
"Hero! You must save the world!!" Thor McGoblin: "You pronounced 'Loot' weird"
Funny thing about farts, they're heavier than air, so once they cool off they sink to the floor, which would mean that the entirety of Hogwarts would be filled with Ravenclaw farts.
Since Hufflepuff's HQ is in the basement, well, I believe you played yourself sir.
Who says they get the chance to cool off, though? I doubt a majority of Hogwarts is cold. Wizards don't need to be cold in a castle; they gotta have magic HVAC, or something. The scarfs are just swag
@@TheHippyProductionsI think it's mentioned a few times that the dungeons are cold. Maybe that's why Malfoy's hair is so stiff. It's not gel, it's ice XD
@@JonduGaming mentioned by who, though? the kids? maybe it's a rite of passage to learn how to ward off temperature and weather for comfort once theyre far enough along, like the Aes Sedai do with their novices in the Wheel of Time novels
@@TheHippyProductions That is a possibility. While I haven't read the books myself, it being cold is one of the more common descriptions I've heard about the area around the Slytherin dungeons and the Potions classroom.
@@JonduGaming huh so maybe it's just that area...I can picture Slytherin preferring that and having their own secret way to keep warm as a supremacy sort of thing
I know you mostly do game dev stuff, but your longplay format is just a delight to watch
The most Ravenclaw reasoning to justify not being a Ravenclaw
Summary of the stream:
Thor is introduced to a feature.
"I like that"
That's pretty much it, and I like that.
Fun facts i learned in these 20 amazing hours:
1. Spiders dont like fire
2. Weird thorny giant salamanders dont like fire
3. Goblins dont like fire
4. People dont like fire
5. Most things dont like fire.
You missed the fact that wolves really don’t like fire
Fire also doesn't like fire.
Fire hurts :(
@@roberthblake3794 thanks for reminding me about those i almost forgot
Also: The main character never shuts up
Everyone seems to have just discovered your channel recently, including me! And i'm glad i did. Keep up the good work man!❤
Ikr, I just discovered this channel as well, he might be my favorite content creator, he has so much appreciation for people and knowledge on stuff
11:51:00 all that time the game spent teaching you to hit the yellow things with the yellow spells and you just would NOT try a yellow spell... I was crying.
Enjoying the vid so far, as someone who missed all the early streams because i didnt want spoilers this has been a great nostalgia blast for a game that genuinely made me feel like that 11 year old i was when i read the first books.
This had me screaming at the screen too. Every fight had been about color coded spells and it never registered until afterwards. And he was still unsure.
I was basically yelling at the screen. I thought he would get it when it changed to purple, but it was about as funny as infuriating
ngl, I was that guy on my playthrough XD I knew, but sometimes the colors don't register until later
Dude I was the EXACT same way
For me its every Z prompt he missed. 100’s of free damage never tried. I guess he thought the z prompts cost ancient magic?
The driver DID get away. You could see him apparate in the cinematic just before you and Fig jump out of the carriage.
I‘ve seriously expected Thor to be a Ravenclaw. The fart terrorist comment threw me off guard so much. Love the gamethrough! 😂
Just 1 more video before bed
Sleep is for tomorrow.
@@PirateSoftware sleep is for the weak
You’re the man. Pretty wild that you can play 20hrs straight while still satisfying the chat. Glad i found your channel. You’re a very insightful dude! Keep it up!
i absolutely enjoy the commentary from your game-dev side as well as the display of personal preferences towards the game. longplays like these bring great joy to me, as i get to look at and understand the game from both perspectives. thank you for the content!
What I love about this game is that if you have never seen harry potter or know the stories. I think it's possible that this could be an extremely good first introduction to this world.
Thank you. After 15:43:00 hours i finally have to check in to announce that Hyppogryffs will always be Horsechickens from now on.
I appreciate your dev advice as a newbie in the tech field, and also your longplays are great for co-plays and background noise. I picked up Tunic after watching your playthrough and got just as incensed as the live watchers that you missed A SINGLE PAGE for the true ending. Great game, great playthrough. Love to watch more games from you man, keep it up.
I found Thor through shorts and love watching his videos, but it was a little frustrating watching him miss important things through hints and tips such as collecting additional cosmetics (as some of them are wicked cool) through the field guide challenges or interacting with throwable objects. Absolutely love the level of appreciation for all the little things he found in his countless hours of exploration. Overall 9/10! Keep up the great content!
The Ravenclaw tower is protected from farts with magic....prove me wrong
I am a Ravenclaw
Ravenclaw tower is sabotaged from the inside (by the gobstones girl)
I am also a Ravenclaw
I've changed my mind, there's NO way that isn't Radcliffe's voice. I don't even care if he denies it.
it's the most "it isn't but we wanted it to be" voice I've ever heard lol
I agree I kept thinking the more I heard the voice like yeah that’s as close as it gets to the real actor. :D
It sounds exactly like the voice they used in the old movie based games
It sounds exactly like the voice they used in the old movie based games
It sounds exactly like the voice they used in the old movie based games
I love what they have done with the game. Yes, it's a bit rough around the edges, but honestly, for a first in its genre (or rather subgenre), a first major title of its IP and especially, for a first major game of that studio, it was incredibly well done. I'd even go as far as to say, even though its a bit rough sometimes, its still better than the vast majority of todays AAA titles.
Edit: I especially gotta commend the studio for what they did with Hogwarts. It's been YEARS since I've had as much fun in a game as I had with the exploration of the castle. The entire design and all the secrets and loot were so much fun to find.
Edit2: Now that I see a playthrough of this game, it really weird how this game made me feel nostalgic, even though it hasn't even been a year since I played it. I have a love/hate (mostly love though) relationship with nostalgia and I'm not entirely sure how to feel xD
That’s such a true statement I’m not even really a Harry porter fan and I absolutely love this game it’s so fun and the details are just so good it really immerses you into the world and makes the game for like more than just a game most of the time something a lot of other games have fallen short on but they nailed it with hog warts
WB Games know how to make fun games. They hit the right mix of doing something new with an established IP and keeping it true to the fanbase. They did this with Batman and the Arkham series, and I see this happening with the Harry Potter Hogwarts series. Looking forward to the DLC/Sequel.
16 hours in “I’m not every popular on UA-cam”
1 year later almost Half a Million views!!! CONGRATULATIONS Thor!!! You deserve all this love!
Probably the only game playthrough I watched the whole 20h duration of :DD You are very entertaining and thanks to your shorts I found the channel!
I am so late to watch this, but I just got onto your channel after catching your "High On Life" play through and I watched every second of it. I think it's your knoledge on game development and your demeanor! Either way, I enjoy your play through, very entertaining to watch.
Gotta say, really enjoy your content. You seem like a swell guy. Nice playthrough, and also fun to hear some insights from the games industry. Keep doing you!👍
Ravenclaw has the best dorm tho xD
ive watched alot of your shorts and i finally decided to check out one of your vids. ive watched 6 hours of you play a game i dont have lol, needless to say i enjoyed your playstyle and aptitude, i appreciate seeing someone with the eyes of a dev play and comment on things. i look forward to catching you live
Went from being literal Harry Potter to Willy freakin' Wonka.
18:00
I like how Fig's dialogue basically explains how the Thestrals work if you're not *that* up to date with the world's lore
I'm just here to say I'm glad I found you, and not just because yours seems to be the perfect voice to lul me to sleep. I appreciate your content conscious too. Just was REALLY struggling to sleep last night and you're the only one who got me there, so thank you for being.
Those long videos are better than i thought. My PC is to weak for Hogwarts, so i enjoy seeing the story enfold here
This is the first full video I’ve watched of yours, and really loving it!
im new to your channel and i appreciate how you look at every detail of a game to see how much love the devs put it. i really thought i was the only one. my friends get mad when i point things out like this.
you're a ravenclaw like mee but i never heard the fart tower thing lol
@7kortos7 hey, if you've seen more of this series...
When on earth does he use his talent points? I'm 7 hours in and no sign
I can't believe how long I've been watching this. No complaints. Good show.
Your point of view on the games while you play them is fantastic. Recently found this channel and cant get enough of all the different content.
**Imagine if the game would have kept stats on some of your actions. Then some intense cutscene plays out where you launch the patronus and the form is based on those stats somehow. I think that would be a cool concept.
Recently found you and picked this let's play to watch since I completed this game as soon as it came out. Very interesting to see it being played and commented on by a dev. Love your positive attitude and commentary!
In my playthrough, I made a perfectly polite slytherin girl who was secretly a budding young psychopath. It's incredible how immersive the game is with that mindset; every conversation with a professor was filled with flattery, students she didn't like got the evil/rude option when no one else was in earshot, but all of the popular kids loved her because she was nice and helped them out.
Who would people believe, the nice african Gryffindor exchange student who sings this new student's praises, or the smelly gobstone girl who claims she was bullied by the nice new girl?
Pushing Sebastian further down the path of evil was the perfect opportunity to manipulate him into being a splendid emotionally dependent lackey. "It's okay Sebastian, I won't leave you." >:)
This game is great.
6:24:00 so fun fact about merlin in legend he would often play tricks by disguising himself as other people to mess with them. But only King Arthur would be fooled by this trick as literally everyone else would be like "merlin why are you like this?"
so merlin is chat?
How have i just discovered this channel? This is amazing.
Love your insight into games, and your voice is very soothing. As for the game, definitely love the world building and graphics as well
You are such a positive and entertaining role model for your "brand" of audience. You inspire me to be a better version of my self: Infectious Positivity
Best back pocket podcast on UA-cam. 10/10 would listen again.
Ugh, I don't want to spend 20 hours watching one video...
But you have such a nice voice... It's tempting... it's really tempting.
Spread it out over multiple days. Like i do. Works like a charm ;)
@@Youp1e Then we get some of Thor's wonderful voice over multiple days, good idea!
Thor, just watched your talk with dr k, it is so good to listen to an open hearted conversation, with no bullshit. You rock, I’m a fan. Thank you.
Loving your content. Worried that it might turn into a major time suck for me though so I’ll have to alot time to watch. I find your insights compelling. You play differently to other UA-camrs. Nice job!
So I found you a couple of days ago through one of your game dev shorts, and I have to say, I'm hooked on your channel. You've earned yourself a subscriber!
thank you for the reddit gold kind stranger
"ArE gAmeEs JuSt iNteRaCtivE cInEmA??" 100% I want to see more of this. This game was well animated, the character models were very nice, voice acting was on point, and the story telling drew you in to a story that places you squarely INTO the world. We need more cinematic quality story telling. Also would love to point out during the cinematics the soundtrack is good! but not a direct rip of the movies OST.
These devs did such a good job.
due to my adhd i rarely every manage to watch videos longer than 5-10 minutes, but somehow i have watched several of your 10+ hours longplays, i find them incredibly soothing to have in the background to help me keep my adhd "distracted"
Well looks like I found my new binge content while I game. What great vibes to chill and game to.
Been watching your shorts a lot lately, saw this pop up on recommended and instantly liked and subbed so I can come back and watch it again. This will be what helps me sleep tonight finally so thank you :) I love your content ( at least the shorts so far LOL )
Getting into watching some of these longform videos, and this was the first one I picked and it's getting me the urge to return to Hogwarts. I got to level 30 but I was a major loot goblin as well, as well as doing EVERY side quest that I had barely progressed the main story. Getting your broom unlocks so much of the map and the side-questing just gets ridiculously enjoyable.
You're such a genuinely amazing human. I came by your videos through UA-cam shorts. I just enjoy whatever you're doing. You'd be a good friend to have. Take care, Mate-eeeeeeeeee
11:00:40 absolutely the best mindset to have. Dont let a bunch of nothing destroy your happy memories and current enjoyment of something only tangentially related. Very wise words Thor.
going from Wizard 101 to Hogwarts Legacy is quite a natural progression
Did he play Wizard 101 on the channel?
I love your style man, the best play through ive seen!!
18 hours 42 minutes in and am enjoying the vid , i love how we both reacted to most of the things that happen in your videos in a similar way, like-mindedness lol
seeing you really enjoy this game makes me want to replay...thanks for the stream.
Having fun watching this a year later. Thanks and I hear it's your birthday today. Happy Birthday! Be well.
Damn I found this channel yesterday and I love it !
I had seen him before in some YT shorts but knew nothing about Pirate Software before recently. This was one of the first videos of his I watched. I thought he made that thumbnail face specifically for this because it fit so well. Little did I know it's on like a dozen of his videos :P. Maybe it's a meme or something and I don't know the history behind it. Either way... his YT shorts showed me he's an intelligent and decent person. Worth a sub.
Love how you talk about the game and how you apriciate the wizzarding world👏👏
Got a few shorts on my feed and now here I am 10 hrs into a long play, struck gold
I'm new here. Your UA-cam shorts are great. I really liked this game when it first came out and watching it through the eyes of a game dev is super cool. I'm really glad I found your content. I've watched your twitch streams now too.
the editor note about the worm was nice to see.
love stuff like that
same as alot of other ppl i only watched the occasional shorts ive come across so far but im rly liking it. as someone who played through the game multiple times right after release and has 100% achievements i must say i rly enjoy watching you enjoying the game ^^ or for short: i love watching ppl enjoying stuff and things that i like alot.
I know I’m mad late to this but your gameplay definitely just made me get this game and I’m more than stoked to start. Looks like a great game actually!!!
In games, I've usually been of the mind that "if I'm playing a video game, i want to play, not watch a story. Otherwise, I'd just put on a movie." However, I've recently started taking the time to appreciate the amount of work devs put into these cinematics, so with this game, I've been putting down the mouse, leaning back and just watching the cutscenes. This game is beautifully done, and I'm only about 15% of the way through the content. (Just got the Room of Requirement)
I hope you enjoyed your time with it! Love this game
Love your shorts, especially this one.
Anyone watching this as intro before buying the game. The entire map is open to you as soon as you can leave hogwarts. You can go all the way south on the map as soon as you want.
Just found your channel after watching your inscryption play thru, glad I found your channel man!!
From the flying class to 12+ hrs later I’m going “pleeeaaassseee go to the broom shop like dude told you” nonstop 😂
Watching this makes me realise how much I miss having a best friend. You bring me Joy.
Fun fact about the Daedalian Keys, they tend to start in the middle when they arrive at their lock and quickly shift to the side. If you activate the minigame and immediately hit spacebar, you can usually get the key in first try.
I am crying laughing. I almost chocked on my drink 3 times and I'm only 1 hour in. But the fart tower jokes keep catching me off guard. HAHAHAHA.
This dude is such a dork, first properly used the term divination, and then rates the game “solid 5/7”. I’m glad his channel is taking off, and here’s some interaction to help boost the algorithm even more.
am i the only one that immediately flinched when seeing how fast the player character runs with the wand in hand?
its a miracle that he didn't lose an eye
Just found the channel through the shorts. I’m really happy I found this channel
You convinced me to buy this game and I am so happy I caught it when it was on sale
I just found out that you also make gameplay videos and not only yt shorts. i love it
The roller coaster scene puts me back up to the couch.
Only watched the first few hours so far and it really makes me wanna play this game again.
Fun fact, but the ceiling of the great hall is not enchanted.
The castle was built in Scotland, so they knew that just painting clouds on the ceiling would do the job.
I know I’ll never be able to play this game so grateful I was able to watch it through someone who plays a lot like me.
You are a treasure lol and the story about your dad was awesome! Small world man
Thor: *picks Hufflepuff*
Also Thor: *is the most Slytherin m@$%%@f%#@er*
watching this 11 months later but love the editors note ❤
fleur delacour had a rosewood wand
Just wanted to say thanks to the editor for the info about the worm, appreciated.
I imagine Thor probably got really lucky that his hardware was specifically really compatible with the game for great performance. I had surprisingly decent performance on release aside from some areas being a bit slow and stuttering issues that I think many people had.
the fact that this is only ep 1 of 3
i just KNOW the hufflepuffs be making the best weed in their dorms and selling it to the slytherins
"Loyalty can lead to bad stuff"
>picks the loyalty house 😂
This channel is awesome
I think the funniest part during the sorting part is that he says he's not about loyalty but he wants to be a hufflepuff
12 hours into this and I couldn't stand it any longer... thank you wal mart
"I'm gonna grow plants, and you're gonna live in a fart tower."
L M A O
This is funny as hell.
The more I watch this, the more I'm convinced that the same qualities that made you a good pen tester are also responsible for your difficulties with this game. By which I mean that you seem to outright refuse to engage with anything the way you're "supposed" to.
didnt watch a minute of this video, but gave a thumbs up for your amazing thumnail
