sure! gear sets will vary depending on the unit and the play style more so than the archetypes though, but I will definitely be elaborating more on that in part 3!
Thank you fartsie for helping us on this monkey evolution process! It's a really helpful guide and it totally worth it, waiting for part 3 :) I have two questions: Is it there a way to know what units uses attack or defense necklace? What units needs weird stats composition? Like hwayoung By the way, did you studied pedagogy? You are really good at teaching
So as I mentioned in part 1, you have to read a unit's kit to know what their damage scaling is. You'll know if a unit will use an attack or defense neck if they don't/cant crit. Their kit will either say that they can't crit, or if their damage is based on a debuff (burns, bombs, bleeds) then they won't crit. So Hwayoung cannot crit, and units like Beehoo (whose damage is based on burns) will scale on attack with no crit, thus you'll want to use an attack neck on them. Beehoo's kit also happens to say that they scale on defense and attack so you can use either attack or defense main neck on them with attack/defense in the substats. Defense scaling units like Karina, Corvus, Pyllis, etc, will say in their kit that their damage scales off of defense. I have never studied pedagogy but I have a lot of experience in tutoring when I was in college haha
Holy crap what a video, thank you so much. Basically all ytbers always say "make sure you have 85% eff" when in actuality it doesn't even help, I never knew that. So it's actually always worse to run someone who has e.g. 85% chance to land def break because more eff won't compensate for that. And also I wish I knew about the tip with the mod gems, I literally neve used the lesser ones... But what about Karin's skill where it doesn't mention any percent chance to land def break. Is that also affected by the 15% resist?
yes for Karin's skill it's 100% chance to proc, but still susceptible to 15% resist. So there are skills that will always proc, or will have a chance to proc (so if it doesn't proc, then nothing happens obviously), and if they do proc, they still go through that extra resistance check and therefore may get 15%'d
I would say as an early player every equipment you roll and mostly you speed checked is better to sell to get some of your charms back and anything you won't roll like blue gear is better to instantly convert into cores but this is mostly for an early player
Yes, this is correct! I probably should have elaborated better in my extract vs sell criteria that it is under the assumption that you are comparing between un-upgraded gears-- i did elaborate later in the flow charts that you'll almost always sell bricked gears to get those resources back (the only time youd extract after failed upgrades is probably when youre desperate to get gear for a specific set that you're not normally farming, which is under desperation circumstances).
Thanks for the guide! My strategy for rolling gear was: roll anything purple/red and pray. It sort of worked out coz I was casual until it didn't work anymore lmao I'll be using your tips to see if I lucksack any speed. All this time my fastest is a 266 Clilias and the next fastest is a 250 Gala Lilias lmao utter garbage. Kept getting outsped even in silver -_-
haha thats usually how it starts in the beginning when you don't know what youre doing and you wing it until you get stuck, I did the same thing when i started too XD
Hmmm, I normally don't receive requests to make these guides, but I do have a Labyrinth cheese guide in my production queue that will be coming sometime in the future. Which dungeon(s) in particular would you like to see guides for?
@@FartPancakes i know there already alot of dungeon guides. since your starting a guide and you already said it in your video that beginners need to start on wyvern dungeon maybe? like from beginner level team, intermediate to one shot? but its just a suggestion, thank you for always reading our comment
great video, i know nore more about the gear, I start this game before 13 days. but still cannot know what heroes to use which are the best setup for different contents. can you make video about the heroes? i have many cool heroes I like to play but I don't use them because I die and cannot do anything, I play now with Rose Dominiel Angelica and Sez :D but I want to play free spirit tieria, Mercedes, Eda, Coli, Nahkwol
spent the entire weekend and abused the free unequip event to move and regear mfs around, i did not leave my computer unless house was on fire oh and food
can you elaborate a bit on using lesser vs greater mod gems first? Im late game player but Ive never heard this suggestion. doesn't this use more gold and then the lesser cannot be melted down into greaters?
So if you're late game, gold cost is negligible, you can always just farm up more gold but it's very hard to farm up the specific greater gem that you want. Say you only have one greater gem, are you willing to risk popping that first and low rolling when you could have achieved the same with a lesser gem? You would rather spend as many lesser gems as you have (as they are easier to come by) until you get the max roll that it offers to avoid getting the low roll with the greater gem. If you buffer to the max roll with the lesser gem first, you have no risk of getting low-rolled on the greater gem. You can certainly melt the lesser gems into a greater gem, but you only get 2 specifically targeted ones per month, on top of the cost of how many lesser gem sacrifices it takes to do so, and it costs A LOT of energy just to farm these, so are you really saving gold by not using up your lesser gems to max roll first? If you jump straight to using the greater gems before hitting the max roll on the lesser gem first, you risk WASTING a greater gem twice if it low rolls. Overall, this process wastes more resources than its worth risking if you don't buffer the rolls with lesser gem first.
@@FartPancakes thank for elaborating! That def makes a lot of sense! I will implement this going forth. Love how I still am learning all types of different tips and tricks about this awesome game
@@REIwAlexY No problem, glad I could help! That's certainly the beauty of this game, you can approach it any way you want but there are definitely ways to go about efficiency that the game doesn't tell you on purpose
Depending on where you're at in the game, goblin gears are not good value overall, if you're new/early game you can +9 them to get by with, but otherwise they are not worth upgrading and keeping for the long run. You can more than likely sell them. Between the reds and the purples, please refer to my checklists for what usable substats on each piece would be acceptable/worth upgrading, and then what doesn't meet the criteria you sell them off. For the ones that have made it worth upgrading after, you can +6 the purples to see if it rolls well, if not, sell it off and rinse and repeat. Then you can move onto the reds and if you have the resources, +9 to see if it rolls well or not or sell it after. To know if it rolls well or not, you can refer to the "rolling gear" section of the linked google doc or watch Part 1 video :)
Gear in this game is certainly a learning curve and not an easy experience to deal with especially when you want usable pieces and upgrades so I feel you on that.... You just have to keep reminding yourself that there are many things in the game to enjoy, and if you treat it more like the it's about the journey of progression rather than hitting the destination, it feels very nice when you hit those nice pieces once in a blue moon and everything finally clicks :)
