Girley Bog - restoration, rehabilitation and water level monitoring

In 2021 the restoration and rehabilitation on the Irish Peatland Conservation Council owned land at Girley Bog was supported by the National Parks and Wildlife Service Protected Raised Bog Restoration Programme with funding from the Carbon Tax Fund. In 2022 community engagement and re-instating the water level monitoring on the reserve was made possible with funding support from the Peatlands Community Engagement Scheme from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
